Owner description: Fascinating Stories in a beautiful place! Newly refurbished museum which tells the story of Keswick's landscape, history and culture, plus activities, events and temporary exhibitions. Wonderful cafe and facilities!

OK we all remember the old Victorian museum with typical glass cases to fill our awe and wonder. We may have even tried to play the Musical Stones that live here, or bought a CD of Jamie Barnes playing them. But it needed to be brought into the present which is what is happening right now. It was still closed when I last tried to visit but I am looking forward to seeing what they have done with their remarkable displays studying the rich ecology and indeed geology of the area. They say it will be more hands one, more inter-active. We will just have to wait and see.

worth finding & certainly worth visiting. A mine of information that adds to any visit to the town. Also, being alongside the main park, it is worth a pause in that trip too ...

We spent a good hour here and were impressed with the interesting exhibits, the xylophone slates and the mummified cat deserve a special mention, as does the interesting story of Jonathan Otley ... and the gentleman who welcomed us was most informative

We popped in to avoid a heavy shower and were amazed at the stuff in here. Loved the lakeland model of the fells .Small but interesting place to while away the time between a lakeland shower
