“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

During our return visit to Leonard,s Field House, we decided to visit the newly refurbished and newly reopened Keswick Museum, overlooking the cricket ground on Fitzgerald Park, at the recommendation of Neil. Although the museum is small, it is very well laid out and well worth taking the time to look around the exhibits and art gallery. The staff are helpful and friendly and to top it all there is a cafe with outside seating overlooking the park. this proved an added bonus as the weather was excellent the prices reasonable and the ice cream and cakes excellent. I would recommend this no matter what the weather.

“A lovely local museum”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

Although small this museum is perfectly formed. What a pleasure to be invited to touch and try out the exhibits. The huge musical instrument made of stones and iron bars was great fun. There was loads of information on past residents of Keswick presented in an interesting way.

The display in the art gallery was displaying works chosen by local people such as the WI, the mayor, local schoolchildren, local business people etc, and they all explained why they had chosen that piece. Visitors were invited to choose their favourite from the display and say why.

The museum was very inclusive, and there is sure to be something of interest to everyone.

“Fascinating Museum”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

Great to find you have re-opened! A warm welcome and people to chat too, lots of surprises and fascinating artefacts like the musical stones (once played for Queen Victoria!) which you can play yourself. Good child-friendly café with a terrace overlooking the park & kids' playpark. Will be back soon using vfm £15 family ticket. HIghly recommended - the children loved it.

“A Great Disappointment”
Reviewed 25 October 2013

The weather this late October was wet, wet, wet, hence we studied the tourist literature and headed for the Keswick Museum to have a sheltered afternoon.

“Do not leave Keswick without visiting this attraction”, your reviewer wrote.

Having toured the area to find it, and a place to park we found that It’s closed for rebuild.
