“A treasure”

Amazing place with it's old building and red seats and cosy feel. So nice to get away from a corporate odeon and their horrible snacks, and have the friendly touch and a cuppa at The Alhambra. they show good films too.

“Quaint Cinema, excellent service, very comfotable”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

Went to see Mrs Browns Boys. The film was average, not as good as the TV series as 90+ minutes is probably too long to keep that intensity of humour. However the lack of film excitement was compensated for by the cinema. It is small and old but lovingly refurbished over the years and we were on the balcony with very comfortable seats. We were greeted on arrival with our reserved tickets waiting for us and free coffee available to patrons along with chocolate eclair sweets. The whole thing was very informal and enjoyable and a welcome change from the characterless warehouse type multiplex venues. We both really enjoyed it and are looking forward to go back, the programme changes frequently to keep checking for something that interests you.
