Villages like Keswick don't have cinemas these days but the Alhambra cinema is a little gem. A rarity in these days as it a family owned and run picture house. If you visit Keswick pay this place a visit and support a small local business, they have all the latest films so why not!

Visited here tonight to see Beauty and the Beast
We arrived at 5.30 just as the owner was unlocking the building!
We entered to a real treat for us old enough to remember real cinemas....
Tickets off a roll, free tea and coffee and popcorn at £1 a bag.....
In total £21 for the 3 of us to sit on the front row of the balcony in huge comfy seats with a big bag of popcorn....bargain!

The cinema itself is spotlessly clean and very well looked after. It is a lovely building and even though we were watching a new film it definitely felt like an experience of the past...right down to the applause at the end of the film...which our daughter found hilarious!!!

Thank you to the owner for keeping these kinds of places alive.

Went to see Lion last night, great film, like this cinema. Enjoyed the retro feeling of the decor and layout of a 100 year old cinema. Staff friendly, and we always try and visit when in the area to support this building.

Family run and friendly too. Seat prices are very reasonable. All recent releases shown. A good cheap evening out

What a fantastic place! We enjoyed a great rainy afternoon in the Lakes watching Sing. With free coffee and comfy chairs we loved the character of this traditional cinema. However, don't be fooled by this. The picture and sound is as sharp as any modern offering. Stick this on your things to do on a rainy day in the Lakes. You won't regret it!
