Kept my 9 year old busy doing the quiz. Also learnt a few things about pencils their history and role in WW2. Nice touch that you get a museum pencil in the ticket price.

“Unique, Interesting Museum”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

My wife, who is a teacher, wanted to visit the Pencil Museum. So with it raining steadily on August 1st, it was the perfect opportunity. The museum, near the former pencil factory, was small, and took only about 30 minutes to go through. It turned out to be interesting, with a short movie providing a history of the pencil industry in Keswick followed by several displays, including the largest pencil in the world. On the day we visited, the museum was crowded. It's worth visiting the museum because it is unique, not that expensive or time consuming. How many people can brag about seeing the largest pencil in the world?

“A little disappointed”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

As a user of Derwent products I thought it would be good, on a rainy afternoon, to pop in and see the museum. It was much smaller than I expected, given the entrance fee, and a little tired. The children that were there seemed to be having a good time though with their question sheets and 'have a go' area. I did buy some paper at the end which hopefully will help my future works. Good on a rainy day but would not go back!

“Something to write home about!”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

This is a small museum on the site of the original pencil factory (which has moved elsewhere). 2 adults & 2 children was about £10. Children were given a clip board & pencil with age appropriate puzzle to do on the way around - keeping the children occupied whilst the grown-ups reminisced & learnt lots of interesting facts. Puzzles complete clipboards handed back, they were given a couple of colouring pencils each as a prize. A nice little place, friendly staff, and something for the children to take away with them - what more could you ask for.

“Very Interesting”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

A good place to visit on a rainy day (shame everyone else thought the same) The children were kept occupied with a quiz and the adults had lots to look at and a very interesting video about the process of making pencils.
The staff were very friendly and everyone was given a memento of their visit, I bet you can guess what it was!
