We ate here after spending the morning canoeing on a very choppy Derwentwater, and were desperate for somewhere to warm up! I can definitely recommend the Sunday roast - two HUGE slabs of roast beef (not overcooked), yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and a selection of veg. All very good value at £10 per person (the mains on their regular menu seemed to be overpriced compared to this). Dessert was an additional £2, and was really lovely, properly homemade apple pie - genuinely the best pastry I have ever had in a restaurant! Service was friendly and prompt. Not an amazing gourmet meal, but a tasty, hearty, relaxing one. Just what was needed.
