We stayed in The Inn Keswick in August 2013 and had a lovely time apart from a day of rain which you sort of expect at the Lakes The Inn was in the Centre of Keswick. the staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good with a great choice. we found a lovely restaurant called Georges just around the corner from the Inn where the food was great. I think the only problem is the parking we booked in on a long stay then moved the car to near the lake on the road where the parking is free if you can get a space but it wont put us off going again.

Having stayed at a sister Thwaites inn in Lancaster (Penny Street Bridge) enroute to Scotland we decided to stay in Keswick for a change. We were not disappointed. The room was small but clean and modernly decorated and had views over the roof tops to the Catsbells. We were on the top floor in room 16?. We were given a friendly welcome. Fresh milk is provided for in room coffee or tea. We also ate at the Inn in the evening and had good traditional local pub food meal with much of the produce provided locally. Excellent Thwaites beers as well! The restaurant was very busy all evening. We noticed that they were asking for local gardeners to "sell' them their excess veg in return for a drinks voucher which we felt was an interesting touch and an excellent idea. We are not surprised that Thwaites has won a national publican award.
We had no problem parking in the nearby council carpark.

Thanks for your positive comments, we work very hard as an Inn to go the extra mile for our guests. I'm glad you mentioned our range of Thwaites cask ales which we treat with TLC for everyone to enjoy, hope to see you in Keswick again very soon.

Kind regards,
Tim Banks - Manager and all the team at The Inn at Keswick.

I dined here on a recent walking weekend in the Lakes.

The menu and chalk boards within the Inn seemed to put a great emphasis on local produce and fresh cooking, however, I found this was not reflected in the food served to me.

The bar and dining area is really relaxing and the service was really good, shame that microwaved over salty food seems to be the norm.

just stayed for two days at the inn and have had a brilliant time. Right from check in the staff were very friendly and professional . The overall quality was excellent with lots of nice touches to make it extra special, and if that's not enough the inn has its own fantastic bar with gorgeous food and a great selection of ales. As regular visitors to Keswick we have stayed at several hotels and guesthouses , in one case costing much more than the inn , but there is no doubt we have found our firm favourite and hope to return to The Inn many more times in the near future. We would highly recommend this lovely hotel and staff to anyone .

We ate in The Inn as a family one evening and it was all very nice. The guys behind the bar were great, offering tasters of all the beers when I was being fussy deciding which one to have. They were knowledgable about what they were serving, which is something I love when purchasing real ales. The food was good too, standard good pub food, and priced for the location. I had the sausage patty, mainly cause it was made with local produce, but it was lovely. The rest of my party had Sunday dinners, with a choice of lamb or beef and they were a good size.
My only niggle is the fact that they allow dogs in here, as I hate them and cant imagine why anyone would want to share their meal with one. But as with lots of Keswick pubs, thats just something I have to get on with!

Thanks for your positive comments regarding your meal and your visit. I'm glad you mentioned how knowledgeable the team were regarding Cask Ales, Its something we put a lot of effort in to. I also take on board your comments regarding pets in the pub, maybe we have an area in future that is dog free? It's all food for thought. We hope to see you on your next visit to Keswick.

There was 7 in our party (8 if you include the dog!) that eat at The Inn at Keswick. It was difficult getting a table as we were a large group on a Friday evening. However, we managed to get a table and enjoyed our meals and drinks. The service was good and friendly and the food was fairly well priced and tasty. I would recommend The Inn at Keswick for a meal and would visit again, but just wish that tables could be reserved for large groups.

Thanks for taking the time to post your positive comments. We have had problems in the past reserving tables for large parties, especially at weekends that don't show or are late. We have to maximise our covers at busy times, just a sensible business decision. I hope you didn't have to wait to long for a table and it sound slike it was worth the wait. Hope we can accommodate you on your next visit to Keswick.

Kind regards,
Tim Banks - Manager and all the team at The Inn at Keswick.
