Absolutely first rate. Hosts were wonderful. Short walk to town, awesome architecture at Allerdale and the houses surrounding it. Great breakfast. On-site parking. A laundry just down the block, too. No question would stay again!

Room tip: We chose room 1, the largest, and were not disappointed!

We've have just returned from 4 nights stay at the excellent Allerdale House in Keswick. From the moment we arrived until we left we were blown away by the hospitality of Barbara and Paul. When we arrived around 6pm on Monday, we were welcomed with tea and cookies. Private parking was a big bonus for us as well. The house is about 3 minutes walk from the town centre. Our room (1) was amazing - really large and spotlessly clean with a comfy sofa and the ensuite was top class. The entire house is tastefully decorated throughout. Breakfast was of the highest standard and you could pretty much order any combination from the varied menu. But it was the extra touches that set Barbara and Paul apart, like taking time to discuss our walks for the day and even printing out detailed coloured maps to help us find our way - taking our wet clothes after a day on the mountains and having them dried and ready for us next morning - helping us decide on the choice of restaurants for dinner - providing wine glasses for room. I know I'm just repeating what hundreds of reviews have already said but Allerdale House ticks all the boxes and more. I reckon this excellent, friendly, homely B&B will remain No.1 in Keswick for some time to come.

Paul & Barbara are the consumate B&B hosts, warm, friendly, helpful and professional. Their B&B sets a very high standard and adds comfort and enjoyment to your trip.
Great location with easy walk into town. They provide restaurant recommendations, suggestions for enjoyable trips, helpful local knowledge...and convenient off-street parking in this small charming town. Breakfasts are varied and delicious. Have a pleasant stay.

We stayed here a few nights before heading up to Scotland to get married and no regrets! Paul and Barbara were wonderful innkeepers (greeted us with tea and cookies) and gave many suggestions on things to do in and around Keswick (along with coupons for things we inquired about). Don't miss their breakfast - outstanding - especially the black pudding. (Paul and Barbara: if you ever get to NC, make sure to try livermush!)

We would definitely stay here again. Gorgeous B&B in the beautiful Lake District.
