Excellent location (just opposite Fishers - how much better could you get?), lovely rooms, fresh-baked cookies, delicious breakfasts, all made perfect by the perfect hosts, John & Susie.

Why does TA have a 200 character minimum? I think I've said all I need to say.

never been one for writing reviews but, having stayed here 7, 8, maybe 9 times, each time deserving 5 stars, I thought it time to review. As with every stay we were welcomed warmly and shown to our room.We always book the same room with Honister and it was as clean and tidy as always, two of Susie's delicious home made cookies to chomp, (eaten straight away), comfy bed, new addition-iPod dock/radio, well received to charge our phone. Each of our three mornings came after a warm, cosy nights sleep and led to the always anticipated breakfasts, good chat with John, very knowledgeable of the area and, delicious food cooked by Susie. All in all, been many times, will go many more, always our first choice in Keswick unless fully booked, thanks again for a wonderful stay, and for the use of your brolly today.

We stayed for two nights and were extremely comfortable. John & Susie were very welcoming & friendly. We enjoyed our breakfast enormously. We really liked sitting around a big table and chatting with other guests. It is so close to the centre of town it's situation is ideal for enjoying strolling around Keswick. We were forgetful and inadvertently left some items behind. Susie very kindly contacted us and is posting them to us. Now that is good service! Thanks to them both. Definitely worth a visit.

Thank you so much for your review which captures the atmosphere we try to generate at Honister House, and points out how close we are to all Keswick's many attractions (but still in a quiet corner of the town).
We hope to see you again soon

We spent on night in October after completing our first day on the C2C route. We had a really warm welcome. Tea and coffee lovely and fresh, even gave us a flask with fresh milk, very welcome. set ideal for the town only round the corner. the lake is within easy walking distance. Breakfast was excellent. we also had a packed lunch. Really good value, and certainly knocks the meal deals on the head. Would certainly recommend.

Warm welcome, parking pass for Central Car Park.
Room was comfortable, sufficiently spacious and well equipped.
Bed comfortable, but a bit smaller than we have at home, but perfectly fine.
Superior choice of tea and coffee facilities - real coffee! Great home made cookies rather than packet biscuits.
Great shower - no bath, but we expected that.
The breakfast choice was vast - plenty of cereals, fresh fruit salad and a fantastic cooked breakfast choice which is cooked to order in the morning when you come down, no need to choose the night before. Great quality items too - no cheap nasty sausages here!

Yet again, our stay with John and Susie at Honister House was most enjoyable. I stayed in Catbells and my brother – in - law in Causey Pike. I was staying for the fifth time, and yet again standards are high. Both rooms had been tastefully refurbished for this year. Breakfast cooked by Susie was first class together with John’s timely delivery of the toast. John has extensive knowledge of the Lake District and was able to give us additional and reassuring advice about our planned walks for the day. Honister House is centrally located, but yet quiet at night. We can recommend the privately owned Italian Restaurant Casa Bella in Station Street, for good food and atmosphere, also the Dog and Gun, for good pub food. We recommend this B&B to anyone and you won't be disappointed. Thanks to Susie and John for a lovely stay.

Stayed for the first time at Honister House on the 17th & 18th August. What fabulous hosts John and Susie are, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are brilliant, nicely decorated and lots of personal touches, homemade biscuits, with so many choices of beverages on the tray.Hairdryer, even a hot water bottle for if it gets cold. Lovely fluffy towels with beautiful smelling shower gels and shampoo. Breakfast is perfect, spoilt for choice. I did not want to go home, I felt so spoilt.I would 100% recommend this place to anyone wishing to stay in Keswick. People come back time and time again, so try and book well in advance as you might not get in, it is that popular. I know that I will definitely return. - Louise Boardman - Manchester

Room Tip: There are only 3 rooms, two with double beds, and one with twin beds, they are all beautiful.
