We have just got back from spending 3nights at this lovely guest house. We wouldn't usually go back to the same place twice, however, we will defo look for availability at Honister House when were next visiting Keswick. Lovely hosts Carol & Ged, who looked after us a treat, our room (Catbells) was very clean & exceptionally comfy! with a great ensuite hosting a great power shower... ah! bliss after a couple of wet fell walks! Breakfast was pretty much anything you wanted cooked fresh when we came down in the mornings. Carol & Ged are relatively new to this their business, and we said we believe they should just carry on doing what there doing as their hospitilaty is for sure up there with the best of um! lovely guest house, central location, great hosts, brilliant breakfast.... all in all a great stay. Brenda & Stuart. :)

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Honister House, clean rooms, great breakfast cooked to order (& packed lunches) and lovely hosts who did everything they could to make sure we had everything we needed. The location of this B&B is ideal, right in the centre of town opposite George Fisher. Thank you for accommodating our family and we would love to come back again in the future! Highly recommended.

Having stayed here a few times before we returned due to the perfect location in the heart of Keswick - in less that 30 seconds you can walk into town, and 5 minutes wander to the Lake. New owners Carol and Ged were great hosts while allowing ourselves and two teenage chaps the opportunity to relax and unwind for a couple of days. Food fantastic, relaxed approach, attention to detail and quality all round to be recommended.

If you want to stay in a well situated, welcoming guest house with excellent food this is the place for you. There are no regimented breakfast times, no ordering the night before, just a relaxed atmosphere which sets you up for the day. It is situated in the heart of Keswick within walking distance of shops, cinema, pubs and eateries. The single large breakfast table is a great idea to get people talking about the days walking etc and also to get information from more seasoned walkers. Ged and Carole are superb hostesses and could not do enough for us even helping to take our luggage back to the car when leaving. The breakfast is second to none with all bases covered from three kinds of fresh fruit juices, cereals, full English and toast and yoghurts not forgetting the fresh fruit salad and cake/biscuits left in the room with tea and coffee making facilities, there was even a cafétier and freshly ground coffee. We had a great stay and will definitely be returning.

Cheesy decor and over-intrusive hosts have often put me off choosing B&B's in the past but Honister House was recommended by a friend and I'm really glad we acted on the tip-off. New owners Ged and Carol seem to have got the balance just right: a genuine, warm welcome, excellent breakfasts catering for all tastes, good local knowledge and interesting conversation from two well-travelled, open-minded people who know when to chip in and when to leave guests to their own devices. Our room was spotless, warm and very cosy and we appreciated little details like the home baked cakes and carefully chosen toiletries. All in all, it was Incredible value for money and we will definitely be back.

Just got back from a great weekend at Honister House !! My partner mentioned it was my birthday on the Saturday to Carol and Ged, and we returned from a walk to find a birthday card and a box of handmade chocolates in our room (a lovely gesture) everything was splendid from the accommodation to great breakfasts, they were splendid hosts who seemed more like friends by the time we left, and we both agreed we will definitely return. We both wish you every success in your new venture, and with your standards were sure it's inevitable. All the best Nev & Pat

We stayed between Christmas & New Year, our 2nd visit to Honister House but now with Carol & Ged the lovely new owners. The place was still immaculate, all linen pristine, the towels fluffy and the breakfast were cooked beautifully. A special mention needs to be made of Carol's gorgeous baking - each a different treat, stem ginger cookies, banana loaf, fruit cookies or flapjacks - it's a good job we walked those hills. Thank you for all your efforts and we look forward to returning.
