The Brantwood Stainton is a regular haunt of ours when visiting Penrith. Our review is based on the restaurant. We always receive a warm, friendly welcome, efficient service and tasty, generous portions, of beautifully cooked food. You can enjoy a pre dinner drink and ponder over the varied menu in the cozy bar area or airy conservatory. Just before your food's ready, you're taken through to your nicely laid table in the main restaurant. We can thoroughly recommend the Homemade Soup, Trout, Lasagne, Steak and Sunday lunch. Main courses are served with a selection of fresh vegetables or salad and potatoes or chips. A sure bet for an enjoyable, value for money, hearty meal.

This hotel is top of our list because: Prices for room, food and drink are very reasonable. Pleasant dining room. The beds are comfortable. Relaxing atmosphere. Drinks almost half the price of nearby places. Friendly, efficient staff. Amazing breakfasts !!! Nice parking and outdoor area. No traffic noise.
OK, so some areas haven't been modernised, but who cares when all we need is somewhere GOOD to stay ! Congrats - keep up the good work Brantwood !

Room Tip: All are well equipped so no favourites. Floors creak a bit, but what do you expect in a nice 'p...

An excellent stopover on the way up to Scotland. conveniently situated close to the M6 but in peaceful surroundings in a small village. Very comfortable beds, an excellent meal in their restaurant, a good wine list and we were well on the way to being refreshed for the remainder of our journey. The staff were most accommodating and made us feel well at home.

Had a lovely meal, i must reccomend the Ribs and the Duck, proper pub food, great quality ingredients. The service is relaxed and friendly, the staff can not do enough for you. You must visit. The location is brilliant and it has a wonderful outside area to sit and enjoy a drink, after supper you can relax in the conservatory. Love it

Spotlessly clean and comfortable beds. Fantastic food on both evenings we dined here. Breakfast was good too! Staff helpful, warm and welcoming. We're in the trade ourselves and were having a couple of days break and came across details of this hotel by chance - what a find! Excellent value for money. We'll definitely be back..

We have been to the restaurant of this hotel for a meal on several occasions and have never been disappointed.
The menu is varied, portions more than adequate and staff very friendly.
We would have no hesitation in recommending to family and friends.
