Description: The beautiful restored Dockray Hall is Penrith's leading pub dining experience. Once the home of Richard III , the inn is full of character with intimate alcoves, comfortable armchairs and roaring fires. Locally sourced produce is turned into wonderfully tasty traditional food with a modern twist by our talented kitchen team. Our range of ales are produced , with care, by our very own brewery , Cumbrian Legendary Ales, and are complemented by a thoughtful and intriguing wine and bar list. A 2018 finalist of Cumbria Life's Food & Drink awards, we are only a few minutes drive from Junction 40, M6.

Lovely food in a very relaxing ,warm and welcoming place. Main bar has an open fire which I'm sure will be most welcome on cold damp days ,other bars lead off in different directions . The pub has lots of history and the staff are only to pleased to tell you all about it. Now back to the food ,it was in the evening we went the choice was good I had the steak while my other half had pork (you will see what was served with it on menu) we both enjoyed it very much , so tasty. We will be back that's for sure .

Dropped in for lunch and what a great surprise log fires burning on a dank day. The atmosphere was very relaxing, main bar dog friendly and with the recent sympathetic renovations gives it a traditional pub feel. The food was exceptional with a great beer and wine selection. We have booked for Saturday night to see what the evening menu produces, if lunch is anything to go by we should be well pleased.
