A quaint former coaching inn. Room smallest but more than adequate. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided which were much appreciated after a days Fell walking! Ensuite with shower. A drying room to leave wet clothes and boots was again much appreciated. Food was excellent best Cumberland sausage we have ever had and the Thursday steak night was of high quality and great value.. Nothing was too much trouble for Jo and Shaun, highly recommended for food or stay or both.....

They are two of the three lovely friendly dogs who are blessed to live at this dog friendly inn.

12 months ago was our first visit for our evening meal and we said we'd be back and we were and will be again.

This is a comfortable inn which happens to serve amazing food (go hungry as they are large portions). And on top of that the menu is twice the size - now two sides with one being lots of lovely Italian options. We all had steaks which were cooked to perfection.

Thoroughly recommended.

We had a one night stay here with our dog Max last week. It was his first time away from home as we only got him in November from a rescue centre. He had the time of his life, was pampered by everyone who came in and even had his own special breakfast. He was able to stay with us even while we were eating. The food was absolutely spot on, we had pizza for lunch and then steak for our evening meal, could not fault any of it. The breakfast the next morning was also perfect. The room was nice and cosy too. Will definitely be back.

Came for dinner with my partner. We've been to this gorgeous, quirky little pub a number of times and once again it hasn't failed to impress! Absolutely outstanding food and impeccable service from lovely staff. Couldn't ask for more. Would highly recommend this gem to everyone far and wide. Massive thumbs up!
