“Fantastic accommodation, Fantastic hosts.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2014

I stayed here in June for four nights whilst working in the area. The location is perfect for Penrith and The Lakes . The house and rooms are immaculate. The most notable comment I would make is that the owners couldn't have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and I even had a couple of shirts ironed! There were several people staying all having different breakfast times but nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent with everything you may want, all cooked fresh to perfection. I would thoroughly recommend this guest house. First class. Thank you both.

Myself and friends stayed here for 1 night after 1st day of C2C cycle. So pleased to arrive at such a lovely B&B after a tough day cycling. Rooms are perfect they have thought of everything, very comfy beds and great powerful shower. Customer service is where they really stand out, the other places we stayed seem to forget how important this is, nothing to much trouble, even to arranging our evening meal as it was sat night and we had not booked. Totally recommend this wonderful B&B.

Stayed here this Monday with my boyfriend and we both agree it is the best b&b/guesthouse we have ever stayed in. We were greeted by Phil who showed us the parking situation and was also very informative about the restaurants nearby and where the best pubs were etc, he really couldn't do enough and made us instantly very comfortable to ask our questions. The room itself was very clean, well furnished and finished to a very high standard. The bed was extremely comfy and we had a great nights sleep, the bathroom was also very modern and the space had been used very well to include a hot and powerful shower. The breakfast was outstanding- that poached egg AMAZING- and the ingredients used were top quality.

So finally, there are a few things for me that put this place above the rest:
1) The warm welcome you receive which makes you smile and feel at home, even the cleaners the next morning said a friendly hello
2) The thought behind décor and furnishings- all units in our room matched and the bedding was top quality- just something that makes it feel more luxurious
3) The little bits in the room which helped a lot ie. cotton buds, cotton pads, plenty of choice in hot drinks, information book including menus, good quality shower gel which we had forgotten, and a great hairdryer which in our experience has been hard to find in b&bs.
4) Great breakfast- cannot fault one bit even the coffee was great
5) We were never rushed out, in fact Phil gave us more valuable info to take away and so on our next stop we took his advice to watch out for the views.

Thank you Ashberry Guest House, no doubt we'll recommend and be back.

We recently spent two nights at this wonderful Guest House and we could not fault it. From the moment we were met on arrival to the time we left nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The building is very smart and in tip top condition, our room was very well equipped with good quality furniture and en suite. A good quality breakfast with numerous choices was provided. The Guest House is located in easy access to the town and the Lake District.

Had a lovely stay. When you go through the door it smells so fresh and clean. The room (in our case #3) was very tastefully decorated and fully kitted with what you need. It is within easy access to the town and a good place to stay after a drive through the Lake District. Breakfast was a treat and had probably the best cheese and ham omelet I have ever had at a bed and breakfast. Nice off the street parking. The hosts are very helpful and accommodate any need. Would definitely stay there again! Oh, did I mention the warm croissants . . . ? Mmmmmm.

Stayed one night here prior to visiting Antiques Road Show at Lowther Castle, and couldn't fault anything. Proprietors very friendly and helpful with information about Penrith. Breakfast excellent - especially enjoyed the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. This place deserves to thrive!

Fabulous B&B in Penrith. Newly purpose built with lovely rooms, extremely clean, towels were proper bath size towels and hand size were equivalent of what would be considered bath in a lot of places. Breakfast was very substantial with loads of different choices and nothing was too much trouble when asked for things cooked in a special way. Definitely stay again and recommend

Room Tip: Room 6 if any difficulties with stairs.
