We popped by here for lunch on a Sunday after seeing great reviews of it online. The staff were quite friendly and service quick to get our drinks. We opted for the carvery and while it smelt nice, it didn't taste quite so great. We'd arrived when it was very quiet before the rush, and a lot of the food tasted like it had been sat around for too long (very evident through the taste of the potatoes); the Yorkshire puddings were cold and a little chewy, some of the veg a little hard too (carrots very much so), the meat had a lot of fat on, and the potatoes just tasted like they'd been cooked hours earlier (and had been reheated; might not be the case, but tasted like that). Nothing was steaming hot either, and for £10.95 a head we just left feeling like we'd wasted our money. Impressed with the layout of the restaurant itself, but it was lacking a little atmosphere and was far too quiet. And is it a pub, a restaurant, or a bar?! It looks like it can't decide what it is. Would have loved to have made this a local having recently moved to the area, but it won't be sadly. Perhaps the food on the main menu outside of the carvery is better.

Thank you for your comments and we are sorry that you feel that the carvery experience was not upto scratch and I have communicated your views to the kitchen team. We have only ever received very little negative feedback regarding our popular Sunday carvery, and we hope you will visit us again and that your next experience will be much more enjoyable. Kind regards, the Stoneybeck Inn team

Excellent food and possibly the best Gastropub fish and chips I've ever had. Sophisticated but retaining some Olde Worlde Pub charm.

Good Morning and Thank you for writing a reviw about us regarding your recent visit to the Stoneybeck Inn. I was extremely pleased to read your kind comments especially as we are running a "Good Friday" Fish promotion this week called "Posh Fish n' Chips" (any two guests ordering fish receive a complimentary bottle of prosecco), with our Head Chef ordering a selection of Fresh Fish we're hoping it will be a success on Friday.

We look forward to seeing you again in the future and once again thank you for taking the time to write a review about us on trip advisor. Best Wishes, Stoneybeck Inn Team

We went for my birthday (21, third time around...) and were most impressed having called 'onspec' on the previous Saturday at lunchtime. We are lucky enough to visit different places and even the hubbie commented 'best rack of lamb for years'. Vey we'll l worth a visit!

Good Morning and Thank you for taking the time to review us on trip advisor. it was nice reading your feedback and your comments have been posted on our staff wall for both our kitchen and front of house staff to read. I also enjoy the lamb dishes the chef prepares which he sources locally from a butcher called Fell Top Meats. We hopefully will see you again in the future and wish you all the best, best wishes the Stoneybeck Inn Team
