“Consistantly good fresh food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

Four of us called here on a recent very wet Wednesday evening. We have always enjoyed the very popular Sunday Carvery, and must say at this point that I feel that it is very unfair of the quite negative comments made by a previous reviewer, when they have not sought out the manager first and allowed him the opportunity to address their dissatisfaction !!
Anyway, we were greeted immediately by the bar staff and were quickly settled with drinks and menus. Two of us thoroughly enjoyed the locally sourced sea trout, the smoked salmon and prawn sauce was perfect. My husband had gammon and our friend had the house curry. The portions were more than adequate and we sadly had no room for dessert. This was my only disappointment as I really had my eye on the pressed apple torte with cider ice cream and raspberries !!! Next time ........

“Excellent meal and overnight accommodation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

We were a party of six travelling up to Scotland and recommended to break our journey here. We stayed in the newly created rooms of which there are three. All were super a part from a couple of minor problems which were dealt with, due to the rooms being very new, we have no complaints. The bedrooms are well equipped and furnishings comfortable and welcoming. We had two friends join us for dinner and the food was superb and not overly priced. Definitely recommend the cheese soufflé for a starter! The staff were friendly, attentive and fun. Breakfast was excellent offering a very good choice. If we travel to this area again we would definitely return.

“Family Friendly Inn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

A well cooked traditional English Sunday roast dinner was enjoyed by members of this family with Yorkshire pudding ( a savoury batter cake that accompanies beef or Lamb) generous vegetable trimmings and a hearty toffee pudding dessert. For a party of four the price was reasonable with friendly service. Stoneybeck also caters for company groups - fiends of mine from a medical charity enjoyed a festive group meal for thirty people here.

Went here for a nice quiet meal two weeks ago.i had the steak burger, omg was huge and absolutely gorgeous. Boyfriend had the steak and it just melted in his mouth. Hand made chips were fantastic. Have to say all was presented perfectly. Staff were friendly and polite. Will be back for definite.

“Nothing memorable.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2014 via mobile

The vegetarian dishes on offer are dull . Quiche and risotto . When will someone come up with an inspiring dish ! The cavery veggies were ok and I understand that the meat was 'nice' . At £10.95 I felt a bit miffed to be honest . Nice enough pub , pleasant enough staff but distinctly average .

Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to write a review about us on trip advisor as al comments are appreciated and actioned here at the Stoneybeck Inn. I was dissapointed to read that everything was positive about the Stoneybeck Inn excluding the vegetarian options and for that you only rated us 3 out of 5 for your star rating.

My colleague who looked after you has advised me that you were offered a minimum of 3-4 vegetarian options and once you received your chosen meal you were asked if everything was ok, and you acknowledged that you were very pleased so again i am extremely cautious in regards to your comments. That being said I have passed on your notes to the head chef regarding the limited and uninteresting vegetarian options and im more than confident he will be able to source some new and exciting vegetarian options in our forthcoming menus.

Once again thank you for taking the time to write a review about us on trip advisor and hopefully we will see you again in the future for you to try our new dishes out. Best wishes, Stoneybeck Inn team
