“Sheer Perfection”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

Leon and Debbie are the ultimate hosts for what has to be the most sumptuous, luxurious and exquisite experience for one's senses. Unequivocally, the whole setting and ambience competes extremely well and readily with any 5-star hotel, in which I and my family have stayed anywhere in the world. I am genuinely surprised that they ever have any vacancies. I would seriously recommend a visit and stay, at Brooklands, for absolutely no other reason than to revel in the delight of the experience.

We recently stayed for three nights at The Brooklands, I only wish it could have been longer!
From the warm welcome we received upon our arrival, to our beautiful room, it was fantastic.
The entire house is furnished to the highest standard and spotless.
The breakfast was excellent and plentiful!
Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts who added to our wonderful stay.
A visit here is must.

What a lovely place to stay. We were met by Leon on arrival and instantly felt at home as he was so welcoming. Superb room with fresh fruit, biscuits, excellent selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate etc. including all the other little touches like toothbrush and toothpaste emergency supplies, in case you had forgotten yours. How thoughtful! It was all the extra little things that showed that both Leon and Debbie think about their guests comfort. Leon also served our breakfast and again was so welcoming, the breakfast was delightful with so much to offer, you certainly wouldn't go hungry. All freshly prepared and delicious. This place certainly deserves more than 5 stars! Thank you for a lovely end to our tour of Scotland xx

Absolutely superb. Cannot fault anything about this establishment. Visited it on first leg of our coast2coast cycle ride from Whitehaven to Sunderland. Extremely welcoming. Excellent advice on where to eat at night. Breakfast out of this world. Flavoured muesli and other serials. Raspberries, Strawberries, melon, prunes, grapefruit and everything else you can think of. Fantastic full English with all the condiments. Décor beautifully chosen with granite table tops. Toiletries, coffee, tea and biscuits including a luxury chocolate speciality. Milk kept in mini fridge. If only all b and bs were of this standard all travellers would have nothing to complain about. Cannot recommend this establishment highly enough in terms of a place to stay and the hospitality offered.Do not miss this one.

We stayed at the Brooklands on route to Scotland. We took the family room and the double next door. Both were exceptionally clean, packed with extras including white company products, dressing gowns, chocolates and biscuits. The Breakfast and service were second to none for the price that we paid.
Well done to you both!

After 3 very long days cycling the West Highland Way and not looking forward to a long drive back to Warwickshire we decided to break our journey up by stopping for a night in the Lake District. Due to the great recommendations we decided to give Brooklands a go. I am so glad we did.

It was a B&B with a touch of luxury. Everything was good quality, and everything had been thought about. The room awaited us with fresh fruit and nice biscuits. There was bottles water in the fridge and a selection of hot drinks available. The four poster bed didn't creak and was extremely comfortable. We each had two pillows (normally we have to go an ask for extra). The towels were lovely and soft and actually of a decent size. The shower was hot and powerful. I can't fault anything with the room (maybe if I was very picky it was a little on the small size, but not enough to bother either of us).

Breakfast was fabulous. Really good portions and good quality produce. I went for the full English breakfast whilst my partner had fish cakes and poached eggs. Beautifully cooked. There was also a good selection of jams available as well as peanut butter and nutella. Something for everyone.

I would really recommend Brooklands to anybody staying in Penrith. You are a guaranteed a warm welcome at a very affordable price.

I stay at Brooklands quite regularly for work and it is fantastic. The breakfast is incredible with very generous portions. Sometimes I have to leave before breakfast is served and Leon is always more than happy to accommodate, even if it is 6am! The rooms are warm, the showers are hot and powerful and I really couldn't fault the B&B.

Room Tip: Stayed in most rooms and all quiet.
