this was a great find, only 3 miles from where we were staying. A very welcome and pleasant atmosphere, a blazing log fire and very good food. We were so impressed we went back a second time, to try a few more dishes on the menu. It is advised to book for an evening meal, as bookings were being taken all the time we were there. It was also busy at lunch time. well worth a try, very reasonably priced. Situated on the village green, which has seats and a play park for children.

We dined here on Saturday the 17th which was May Day in langwathby . We pre booked which was a good idea as the place was buzzing. It is a lovely traditional village pub with pleasant and helpful staff. There's a large selection of drinks and a well designed menu with a selection of daily specials. All 8 meals were faultless and with not long to wait was a major achievement considering how busy it was. Very good value so we will definitely return.

Popped into the Sheherds Inn for Sunday Lunch over easter as we were staying a couple miles down the road. It was ideal as we had babies and toddlers with us. There is a park right outside so was perfect for kids.

It seemed to be a very family friendly pub with the staff being very pleasant.

There was a good choice on the menus with some nice specials, and the value was excellent.
The only one thing I could say was that the food slightly lacked a bit of flavour. However the Sticky Toffee Pudding was excellent, probably one of the best I have had.

If I was in the area again, I would return.

Found this place by accident... Got lost trying to find a place for lunch on the way to Ambleside , was late but found this friendly and warm place... Looked like it was run by ladies , waitress, and chef were all ladies. Quite well patronised . While they had traditional food like the lamb tatties pot ( yummy ) , the soup of the day was really fresh, thick and creamy ( not like out of the can ) , I had the tempura prawn with the chili sauce ... hmm oriental serving in the middle of the lake district.

The dessert menu is actually our placemat and naturally we ordered the homemade profiterolles ..

This was our second stop at this lovely pub, on the way to the lakes. It has lots of lovely food to choose from and the staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of good beers on tap. The food is nicely presented . Chips to die for- PROPER chips which you rarely get these days. Couldn't think of stopping anywhere else when driving across to the lake district!
