Country location. Excellent accommodation - very spacious - suited our family of 8 very well.
Would recommend Lowther Castle - great outdoor play area for children.
We have just returned from a lovely 3 night stay at Park House. The house itself and surroundings were a beautiful place to stay while visiting the Lake District. There were 4 adults and 4 children and we didn't feel cramped at all as the house is very spacious and the decor is very luxurious. The children all aged between 1 and 5 had lots of fun running around the garden and playing with the friendly dogs that live on the estate. I Would highly recommend this accommodation for anyone wishing to have a relaxing Lake District break.
We have just enjoyed a three night break at Park Housr booked direct with the owner through Trip Advisor. This is a stunning cottage which is well equipped with everything you could need and more! Perfect for families with stair gate, cots, blankets and high chairs. The cottage is based on the owners land and is located in a beautiful setting. Our little boy loved the cows and horses and the two family dogs are very friendly. The owner is fabulous in relation to communication prior to and during our stay. We loved it and will return again. The photographs do not show the true size and beauty of this cottage.
Spacious and tastefully furnished family friendly property. Enclosed garden surrounded by beautiful countryside. Both young and old family members said they would love to return!
I booked Park House for a family Christmas holiday. The house is actually spectacularly really nice and the photographs do not do it full justice. Every room is very spacious, the kitchen is fully equipped, the lounge has plenty of seating and a very easy to use log fire and the dinning area has plenty of room for the eight people setting. All four bedrooms are really cosy and comfortable with modern clean bathrooms. The grounds are lovely to walk around and the owner Anne-Louise is extremely helpful, welcoming and nice. Staying at Farm House for Christmas 2016 made our family holiday a very special one.
A group of friends booked this property as a base to stay in while we attended a wedding nearby. So glad we found Park House as it could not have been a better home for the weekend!
Anne the owner found us enjoying the garden and views of the surrounding farmland shortly after our arrival and welcomed us warmly (we had already met the canine members of the family who all in our party wanted to take home!). Anne is very friendly and around for any issues that may arise (although none did for us) and she even let us use her beautiful house as a backdrop to some pre wedding photographs!
Park House itself was perfect for us. 4 spacious bedrooms, 3 modern bathrooms, large and well equipped kitchen and dining area and a comfortable lounge area. The old style wooden doors and ceiling beams in the master bedroom are great touches hinting at the buildings past life. The beds were extremely comfortable and the silence of the area makes for a good nights sleep.
Cannot recommend highly enough!
Park House was spacious, immaculately clean, and well-equipped. It's setting on a working farm, set far back from any main roads made it the perfect place to return to each evening after our explorations in the countryside. We loved it! What a total change from our hectic world.
The Johnstons were more than gracious - to the point of providing us with food and wine on the night we arrived too late to shop for groceries or eat at any restaurant. 10 Stars!
