the rooms were beautifully furnished with fantastic views over the valley and the breakfast was the best food we ate during our tour of the lake district, a delicious cooked breakfast using all local produce. The hosts are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Superb

This really is a wonderful B & B offering you a wonderful restful and comfortable stay. We stayed in room No 4, which was large, light and airy with beautiful views. The room was decorated very tastefully and luxuriously and spotlessly clean.

Breakfast was a real treat in the large dining room again another light and airy room with beautiful views. The breakfast selection on offer was amazing. The owners were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. We really enjoyed our short stay with them and would certainly recommend this B & B. There is a hill to climb to get to it, but it is well worth that climb.

I think I have only positive things to say about this place. Reasonable prices, nice rooms, excellent breakfast and lovely hosts who have a lot of knowledge to share about the area, activities to do and places to see. I highly recommend it!

We stayed here after booking.com cocked up a reservation for somewhere else - they did us a favour.

This is a quality B&B. We had room no. 4 with two large windows giving nice views of the gardens and Penrith. The bed was very comfy and everything was spotlessly clean. A nice touch to have fresh milk to have with the tea/coffee in your room.

Breakfast was lovely, with good quality ingredients.

It's a pleasant down hill stroll into Penrith.

Stayed here en route to Edinburgh, helping a friend move for a new job. It was a warm welcome on late arrival, after appalling driving conditions delayed us. A refreshing sleep in a too comfy bed (getting up for breakfast was the issue!) with everything I needed (toasty dressing gown & local natural product shampoos and soaps). Highlights: the exquisite antique furniture and deep, warm colourful botanical paintings in my room. The traditional English breakfast was superb with Eden sourced food (most excellent spicy ketchup and home-made jams) and great views of snow-capped peaks from my room and at breakfast. Bags me the little table by the dining room window for writing inspiration on my next trip (soon to be booked!)

Another two night stay. Just as good as last year. A brisk walk into town set us up for a good meal at the Agricultural Hotel on Friday and the Bangkok Café on Saturday.
A comfortable room, and bed, gave me the best nights sleep I have had in a long while. I had forgotten how dark it is away from city lighting and the lack of passing traffic - bliss.
Thank you.

It was a dark and stormy night......
arriving at this warm and welcoming bed and breakfast after a long drive from London was marvellous.
relaxing, comfortable with everything provided.
highlights for me were the magnificent breakfast- home made bread, locally sourced food and great views from the breakfast room. It was very hard to leave and continue my trip.
On a technical side the Wifi worked perfectly and was helpful to be able to check in with family and friends that my trip was going well.
