“Sunday night dinner”
Reviewed 13 August 2014 via mobile

We had dinner which was really well cooked and well presented (steak and special burger). The staff were helpful and very accommodating. The prices were very competitive as well. £15 for a steak the plate was large and it was full.

“Gone Downhill”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

We returned to the Elleray after a 2 yr break and can only say very poor. On entering the Restaurant area no one was there except a couple in the corner, no tables set and a sign saying order at bar next door. We had to find the menus, and set the table ourselves. Food was poor, Oven chips with no taste, smart price peas, The Stake and Ale pie was stew on the plate with a pre-bought pastery topping, all in all nobody tried to make you welcome or even cared if you were there , try the Albert in Bowness a much better place.

“Good cheap pub grub in a friendly environment”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

Staff were very friendly and waited less than 15 minutes for food to be served. Also very fairly priced. We ordered the steak and kidney pudding, the lasagna and jacket potato. Big portions, piping hot. God mix of locals and tourists with their dogs.

“Waited an hour for overcooked food!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

When arriving, I was informed that I would have to wait about 50mins as it was busy - fair enough. Unfortunately, when my cod and chips arrived - it was completely unedible. I've never been given rock solid chips before. After a long journey, is it too hard for simple British holiday food?

“Pricey Peroni”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

This pub has had its rear beer garden refurbed and it looks a lot better.
Was shocked at the price of the Peroni so beware.
Must of put the prices up to pay for the refurb.
