I stayed here in July 2013, we chose to stay here because it was difficult to find a place to stay in the township. It was a busy time in Windemere and many B&B's were full.
Beech House is situated just outside of the town away from the Lake but about a 10 minute walk from the shops so not far. The hosts were friendly and hepful with recommendations on what to do in the area, although never introduced themselves when we were there.
There were 2 of us staying and we were given the attic room which was the family room. It was spacious and had lots of toys for the kids which was nice (if you had kids) It was also quite good as the two single beds had a curtain that could be drawn across o block off the kids from the adults.
We were there in what was probably one of the hottest times in Britain for awhile and unfortunately, it was crazy hot in the room, with only one tiny window for ventilation. There was a fan in the room which eased the heat a bit but really wasn't that effective. Not much the proprieters can do about that.
Breakfast was the standard you get in most English B&B's (cooked breakfast, cereal), But I can recommend the fresh fruit salad - it was pretty good, lots of variety of fruit. The toast was perfect - made from their own home made bread.
We were travelling with a car and whilst there's no on site parking, we had no problems finding parking in the street. There is also a paid parking nearby but you shouldn't have any issues parking on the street for free.
They also offer free unlimited wi-fi which is a good bonus.
Would consider staying here again.
