I've heard a lot about prince of India restaurant from people and how incredible it is and the food is just tempting. i logged on to tripadvisor and read through the reviews and many people had a positive review about the restaurant. i wanted to go out for my anniversary with my husband and treat him. so we went there last month. we sat down the waiter came instantly and took our order. i didn't reply on what to order because the food did look really tempting. i had the best curry ever and desert was lush. i loved every moment of it. my husband was absolutely thrilled with the excellent service and Food. it was one of the best anniversary ever. Thankyou so much for the pleasant food.Keep up with the fantastic job! i recommend this to everyone they are the best!'

We arrived around 8 on a busy Saturday and were told a table would be ready within the hour. We returned and had a lovely selection of very tasty curries. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick evening meal in Windermere. The service was excellent and all the staff very friendly.

Being a thorough foodie from the region of the cuisine, here's a place trying to sell Indian cuisine but failing to meet expectations and ends up with a typical taste similar to supermarket style take away dishes.

Maybe it's just that you expect way more from a good restaurant which has such variety in its menu but the lamb and mixed vegetables dishes were lacking thev finesse of garam masala and spices which it deserved. The lamb pieces where not cooked proper and was filled with added colours.

Overall disappointed but giving few extra points for decent service and good chutneys asking with the starter to save it.

If you've recently watched the Rick Stein episodes on Indian cuisines and expect similar experience, please avoid as you'll be disappointed.

Choose this restaurant after reading some of the Trip Advisor reviews and we certainly weren't disappointed. Arrived on a quiet Sunday evening but we weren't on our own for long, quick service but not rushed. My other half raved about the butter chicken, said it was one of the best he'd had and I have to agree my rogan josh was just as yummy. Only awkward moment is moving around the tables once a few more people had arrived.
