“Great Little Hideaway.”
Reviewed 30 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

This cottage is a little gem. Hidden away in woodlands but only a mile out of Windermere. Nice and clean very comfortable with everything you need.
Would stay here again and highly recommend it.

“Cosy cottage escape ”

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Nook and we absolutely adored it!
The cottage is in a lovely area, nice and quiet and only 10/15 minute walk from the villages of Windermere and Bowness. There are several walks that you can do right from the cottage, if like us you don't want to ditch the car.
The cottage was lovely, cosy, comfortable and warm. They have sky movies, a large comfy bed and a large kitchen with plenty of utensils.
There is a small car park at the back of the property up a rocky Lane but we just left our car on the quiet little street out front.
We would certainly return and will recommend to friends and family.

Perfect location with all the facilities needed for a long stay. We had a 3 day break as it is winter but found the Nook to be perfect. After winter fell walking it was nice to lounge in the bath and then watch a movie on the sky TV.There was also a selection of DVDs in the cupboard.
Do not miss this cottage as you will not be dissapointed

“Lovely Cottage”
Reviewed 25 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We stayed in the Nook cottage this September. The cottage is perfect for a couple looking for a peaceful retreat. Everything is included in the Nook and you could stay here forever.
Full Sky TV is an added bonus for a film in the evening as there is the full movie channels to choose from. A private car park and the Nook has its own garden with a chimenea.
We loved the bright bedroom with the roof window.
The whole cottage is spotless.
Thanks

“The Nook is a cosy hidden cottage”

Stayed at the Nook end of October. Parked right outside and the owner, Mick, made us feel very welcome. It was super clean and warm on the chilly night we arrived. There was plenty of storage room for everything, and the bed was so comfortable. Bathroom has a generous big soak bath, and towels were good quality, thick and soft. In the dining area is a bookshelf full of maps and walking books, so useful! Opposite the front door is a sheltered courtyard garden, private to the Nook, with flowers, table and chairs. WIFI and Sky TV signals are sometimes intermittent, but this is a quirk I’ve come to expect throughout the Lake District.

Why I’ve not given 5 stars is; The kitchen really needs more crockery, matching would be a bonus (there were only 2 large plates and mugs, which we had to keep re-washing, making the dishwasher redundant). Also, the sofa was very uncomfortable; especially the middle section, which was super hard packed, and could do with new seat cushion interiors.

The owners are very caring, and no doubt will quickly sort the above. I can highly recommend this peaceful, beautifully decorated cottage. It is in an ideal location, a short walk to town and good base for exploring Windermere and the surrounding area.

“Comfy, Relaxing, Friendly hosts.”
Reviewed 25 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Kitchen could do with a few more plates, some oven gloves and instructions for using microwave, cooker etc, but over all a very good rental property, this was our second visit and we plan to return in the near future. Great location for enjoying the walks and attractions that Windermere and Bowness have to offer. A variety of good eateries within easy walking distance. Great place, highly recommended.
