Johnathon and Patricia were wonderfully attentive. The attention to detail was superb. The rooms Orrest Head and Claife Heights were beautifully presented. Both en suites were impeccably clean and the showers were great. Very comfy bed and lovely crisp bed linen. The breakfast was fantastic with everything you could wish for and the evening meal - to do it justice you would have to say 'fine dining experience.' was exceptional. We have never tasted such delicious creations in a hotel! In fact, we decided to eat in every night! The presentation and service was faultless and this made it an even more enjoyable experience. Patricia is a 'little gem,' nothing is too much trouble and her sense of humour is refreshing. We can't wait to return!

We booked into Cedar Manor after reading all the great reviews and we were not disappointed, it was a fantastic meal! It is a really romantic setting and we enjoyed a few pre-dinner drinks in the bar before and we were offered 2 lots of appetizers. We chose our meal and wine before siting down and it was served to us without asking who was having which meal...very professional. The food was amazing - blooming in flavor and tickling our taste buds. I would highly recommend this restaurant, it is a little more expensive but thoroughly worth it, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion.

My partner took me on a surprise visit to Windermere where we stayed in the coach house at cedar manor.

We were warmly welcomed and loved the accommodation-quiet, peaceful and spacious. We particularly loved the bathroom with its large spa bath and amazing shower. My partner had forgotten to pack my contact lens solution and as we arrived late there was nowhere to get more so the owner Caroline went through her own supplies and found some solution for me to use overnight-this was above and beyond what is expected and we were so grateful!

The following day my boyfriend proposed to me with the help of the owners in setting up rose petals, flowers and champagne-it was the perfect setting for a proposal! Caroline had recommended to my partner that we stay for 2 nights instead of one (which I thank her for!!) as well as suggesting some cheaper prosecco rather than the expensive champagne my partner was going to purchase based on her experience. This was a great recommendation as we loved the one she suggested.

That night we had dinner at the restaurant which was amazing-the owners had even given us out first engagement card! The dinner was delicious and of high quality. We also had great service by Caroline and another (Spanish?) waitress where we were made to feel special. We even said we loved it so much that if we got married in the Lake District we would love to have our reception in the restaurant.

Highly recommend staying and we will be back as soon as we can!

Attention to detail is probably the first thing that comes to mind after staying at Cedar Manor. The owners have spent a lot of time, and I suspect money; to the point of even having their own wallpaper custom printed and arty touches such as the stunning glue glass chandelier. The bespoke furniture in the bedroom we stayed in mirrored the gothic arches of the windows perfectly.

The grounds are immaculate and in mid-May full of colour (see posted photo). The owners recommended a nearby easy nearby walk to Orrest Head for views over Windermere. Well worth doing this if the weather is good (see posted photo).

We eat in the hotel one night. The dining room is cosy, and the service was good. There is an emphasis on local produce. We felt the starters and deserts were better than the main courses which lacked a bit of adventure, and the meat in both of our main courses was a little overcooked. This is a very minor point though.

Breakfast was of a high standard, with home- made jams and marmalades along with a comprehensive menu.

A most enjoyable short break at a hotel with impeccable standards throughout maintained by resident proprietors. Standards of service, cleanliness, food, ambience, appointment & helpfulness are all that you would wish for. Add a convenient location in a wonderfully scenic part of the country & there is little else you could need.

Feel like the Lord of the Manor when you stay at Cedar Manor. The owners are most welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is excellent with absolute care for detail. The property is well located for access to the town and the lake, and if you decide to stay in instead you can enjoy the facilities in the lounge or the grounds.
For fine dining you can't beat the restaurant. What a fabulous experience of wonderful quisine and amazing service.
When I stayed, I was a bit overwhelmed by the crowds in town at the time, and Caroline was most helpful in directing me to visit some of the local sights that are generally not frequented by tourists. My only regret was that I could only stay for a couple of days.
From a budget point of view, it was a bit pricey, compared with some other accommodation in Windermere, but it was a very nice way to spend the money, and definitely worth every penny.
