We were on our way home after walking Hadrian's Wall and were looking for a bit of tender loving care and we certainly got it. A lovely hotel with a very comfortable room and a spa bath. The bathrobes and REN toiletries were much appreciated. Jonathan and Caroline were very hands on and worked very hard to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. They were genuinely friendly and helpful. The highlight of our 2-night stay was dinner. We enjoyed drinks in the lounge beforehand and the opportunity to chat to other guests and the food was fantastic. Particularly memorable was the oak-smoked chicken with mango and the sea bass. After 10 days of eating in pub-type restaurants it was great to experience some sophistication. Also memorable were the small cups of soup that came each night before the first course, particularly the curried cauliflower. We are now on a hunt for a recipe to give it a try at home. Breakfast was great as well - all the usual suspects very well cooked. The serving staff were very friendly and efficient. All in all a super place to stay and eat.

Really pleased that you enjoyed your meals, its a brand new menu and we love it too.
We all hope to see you again for another relaxing break in the not too distant future. (we are also conveniently close to the end of the Dales Way.. just in case you are off on another walking holiday)

My husband and I stayed 4 nights in the Wansfell room, which had a spa bath. The room is a little small, but we knew that prior to our stay, having viewed the room on the website. The bed was very comfortable and the coffee in the room was great; it was nice to have a French press. Bathrobes are provided and the REN bath products were fabulous. I needed to connect to work and the wireless in the room worked perfectly.
Service was top notch. Caroline and Jonathan were extremely friendly and helpful. It was so nice to speak to them during our stay and they seemed to genuinely care about each of the guests. Patricia was on duty the night we had a delicious dinner there and she was also very nice and a wonderful server. Breakfast was amazing with a good selection of cold buffet foods as well as very good hot breakfasts. The homemade jams were to die for.
The location is very good- a short walk to the town of Windermere and a good spot from which to go to other areas of the Lake District. We took 2 tours, both of which picked us up at the hotel. I highly recommend the Lake Experience C tour from Lake District tours. We got to see quite a bit during the tour and had excellent commentary from Stephen. We took a taxi one day to have a "through the ages" lunch at Sharrow Bay. It was worth every penny - we were in a beautiful dining area with great service and excellent food, including the original "icky sticky toffee pudding."
I highly recommend staying at Cedar Manor Hotel. It is elegant without being pretentious and nothing beats the attention to detail in decor, food, drink, and service that Caroline and Jonathan put into this place.

Thank you very much for reviewing your recent holiday at Cedar Manor. We are delighted that you enjoyed the Lake District and of course your time at the Hotel.
We really do take a lot of pride in what we do at the hotel and its lovely to have this acknowledged.
We hope to see you again if you come back to the Lakes, we would recommend trying the Windermere Room, Bowness Room or Orrest Head where you can really spread out over a longer stay.
Thanks again for taking the time to review.
Best wishes

Came for a meal with sister for her birthday.

Chose the 2 course option. My sister wasn't too hungry so decided to have a starter and dessert whilst I had main and dessert. ( they adjusted the price to accommodate for the starter and dessert which was good).

Food was delicious. The White chocolate and raspberry parfait to die for. Hats off to the chef.

Ambience lovely, waitress and waiter hospitable and friendly and cracked a joke here and there.

Really enjoyed evening at cedar manor for dinner. Highly recommend for a fine dining experience and special occasion. Will definitely come again if returning to Windermere in future :)

We stayed at The Cedar Manor for 4 nights and dined in the restaurant twice. Our overall experience exceeded our expectations. It is centrally located in The Lakes District from which one can conveniently set off on tours by foot to the charming town of Windermere or drive around Lake Windermere to visit the many other beautiful villages. We stayed in the Windermere room and it had all the amenities we needed. The 2 dinners were delicious and creatively prepared, the wine list was not expansive but more than adequate and reasonably priced. Breakfasts were outstanding. The owners, Caroline and Jonathon, were friendly, welcoming and responded to our needs enthusiastically. We would not hesitate to recommend The Cedar Manor to all interested travellers.
