“Planned long walk which was cut short due to weather”
Reviewed 6 February 2012

We set off to walk round Rydal water and planned to stay in grassmere for lunch but the weather deteriorated (thicker snow) and we decided to shorten the walk and lunch in bowness.
The walk itself was fab, the different landscapes with the extreme cold meant the lake was mostly frozen and the landscapes eerie but would love to go back and do the full walk in the future.

“Rydal”
Reviewed 23 January 2012

This is a lovely lake for walkers. There are many level walks nearby, and you can walk around the lake, though some of it would be on a busy road side pavement. The far side of the lake, under Loughrigg Fell is delightful, any time of year.

“Spectacular Views”
Reviewed 4 December 2011

Go and find the caves and loughrigg terrace!!! You will be rewarded with great views. In the summer you can swim in the weir and if you can face it - go upwards for even more wonderful views

Excellent walk for a family. A bit further than we intended but still a great way to spend a few hours on a lovely autumnal day.
