This is a truly wonderful hotel. I stayed during a special offer period and enjoyed in a suite for the price of a standard room. The accomodation was great, the service faultless, the location spectacular and the food... :-)) Well - I suggest you try it for yourself. I live in London and the food easily rivals that of the best restaurants here. I will return!

We came back here for our first wedding anniversary, after getting engaged here 18 months ago. We had the Manmire suite again, and everything was first class. No faults at all to report apart from the side water jets in the suite's shower appear to have given up. Also the shower is draining very slowly leading to a flooding risk if your in for awhile.

Service, food and the up keep of the property was excellent and just as we remembered. We ate dinner in the restaurant twice and both were exceptional, even better than our last visit. Only small gripe is they do not appear to change the menu so it was the same both nights.

This hotel is expensive, but we really enjoy it, and will return.

Lovely little hotel, some nice staff, as other reviews have said it does need a little TLC and attention to detail is lacking a little e.g. scruffy builders bag and blue tarpaulin spoil the view from a couple of the suites, walking around the back of the hotel you will find the kitchen where the windows look very dirty, just hope the kitchen is kept cleaner!

The view is nice, not amazing and certainly not the best in Windermere but nice all the same.

We stayed on the special summer rate which according to the standard price list suggests we had a £320 discount - I would have been upset had I paid full price! Even at the reduced rate it is pricey.

The drinks are so very expensive, so much so that we did not have any! A bottle of water is £4 and the price for spirits is beyond belief, Proseco is £40! From reading trip advisor we were aware of this and took our own to drink in the room, which was fine as we had a nice room with separate lounge.

We probably wont visit again, due to the price of drinks and price of rooms given the slight scruffiness. Overall we did have a lovely stay and the suite was really nice, lovely bathroom with huge bath, cosy lounge with gas fire, nice and rustic, the room was clean just a little scruffy in places.

We stayed for a Friday night. The hotel is very nice and the service was excellent.

The room (Pym) was very nice but would have been better if the toilet seat was fixed properly, the tv cupboard didn't have a half falling off door, the apples in the fruit basket were new rather than a week old and the carpet at the top of the stairs wasn't threadbare - I wouldn't normally complain but considering the price I expect a top quality product.

Fortunately we had our own whisky as the price ranged between £12 and £20 for a shot!
