Lovely coffee and walnut cake! Really nice cafe, lots of seating. The trivial pursuit cards on the tables are a nice touch! I've not seen that before. Would visit again, the afternoon tea looked lovely, shame we didn't have time to try it before our trip was over.

I have never considered Windermere to be a proper Lakeland town, it's more for tourists than walkers.

We arrived in Windermere after a very wet ascent of wansfell and were in need of coffee and food to refuel. A lot of the cafés are not dog friendly but this one is.

We were welcomed in despite being soaked head to foot as was our dog. Comfy sofas await you and a menu of scrummy food and proper coffee.

The ploughmans meal is generous in size with a selection of local cheeses and fresh salad . Sandwiches are made fresh to order and the coffee was both hot and freshly brewed.

Staff are friendly and attentive but you are left to enjoy your meal . The cafe being open on Sundays is a real bonus for weekend walkers.

Overall a great place for a pit stop which is spotlessly clean, welcoming and serves proper freshly prepared food.

I've eaten here a number of times, and have enjoyed every visit, whether it is bustling with tourists, or I want a quiet and cosy corner to read a book. Doesn't look like much from the front, but is actually very spacious inside, with sofas and tables. The menu is varied and well priced. Their tuna and cheese melts, and their cakes are yummy, as are their salads. Really nice place if you have children or a dog and want somewhere that is relaxed and homely. Equally good for a light business lunch or a coffee and natter with friends. Staff are wonderfully helpful, friendly, and great service.

Passing through Windermere, we wanted a snack where we could take our dog. This was the only place we saw displaying a Dog Welcome notice, and welcoming it was!
We had toasted sandwiches and cold drinks - the quality matched the prices, so no complaints there. We sat in very pleasant surroundings, and were attended to by an extremely friendly waitress, who stressed how much they enjoyed having dogs in.

Although the Coffee Bar doesn't serve full meals, the menu is highly suitable for a midday snack, and I would highly recommend popping in every day to take in the surroundings - and to give the dog a break.
