We have just got back from an amazing trip to the lakes. We couldn't have picked a better hotel. It was perfect in every way ... Location, staff, rooms with a lovely restaurant and bar!!
My boyfriend proposed to me during our stay and the little touches from the staff were greatly appreciated.
I would highly recommend a visit you will defiantly not be disappointed - I am already looking forward to going back.

Stayed for 3 nights earlier this week. Beautiful Hotel very well looked after and maintained by the owners. Individual bedrooms. We dined in the restaurant each night and the standard was very high, everything was well presented. My only complaint was the lack of choice for dessert, although what we had was lovely. Breakfast was excellent too. We celebrated our Silver Wedding anniversary on the 2nd evening and found the table specially decorated and a card too which was thoughtful. Waitress staff were very polite and courteous.

Room Tip: Room 7 had an amazing bathroom, which is why we chose it, however it only has a double bed which we found a bit too small.

Thank you for choosing Applegarth as the place to stay on such a special occasion as your silver wedding. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. You are correct that room 7 does have a standard double bed. Most people fall for that particular room because of its beautiful bathroom with circular spa bath in the bay window. If your looking for a big bed we can go up to 8ft wide so hopefully we can tempt you into another room next time. Once again, congratulations on your silver wedding anniversary

We recently stayed at the Applegarth for 9 nights, so we got to know the place quite well! We were so impressed and our expectations were blown away. The Applegarth is a lovely hotel; they’ve managed perfectly blend the warm welcoming feeling you want when you escape to the country with all the mod cons you’d find in a big fancy hotel in London.

We stayed in Room 1, a suite. It is decorated beautifully, with a huge bathroom with separate shower and jacuzzi tub for two. The room itself is very spacious, with big windows letting in loads of light. The concertina doors open to a small balcony, overlooking the rooftops to the hills beyond. But as the doors open fully, you can just as easily lounge on the sofa and feel as if you’re outside. It’s lovely.

We enjoyed many dinners at the Applegarth, all of which we found to be great quality. My husband enjoyed the breakfast everyday. The service was impeccable.

There is ample parking for everyone in a big, easy to maneuver car park; very nice in a small village!

The Applegarth is modern without being cold and inviting without being intrusive. It is a perfect blend making it an idea getaway for all ages. While we were there a young couple celebrated their engagement and the next night a man celebrated his 80th birthday. Both couples seemed to have a great time and feel comfortable. My husband and I are somewhere in the middle of that and we obviously enjoyed it as well!

I really recommend the Applegarth. Thank you to Suzanne, Alan and family for a lovely time. We hope to visit again soon!

Room Tip: Room 1 is large and spacious. It is down a flight of stairs, but looks out on a garden yet another floor down, so it doesn't feel as if it's on the ground floor. Big windows and lots of light. It feels very private.

Spent two nights at Applegarth at the end of March (Room 16). The room was excellent, the food was superb and the service (in restaurant, bar and at reception) was faultless. Couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. They even helped put me in touch with their wine supplier. Great weekend!

My husband & I went for a 2 night break to Applegarth. It is a beautiful hotel the decor is lovely and the rooms tastefully done.
The staff are very helpful and friendly and its obvious they all care about their guests.
Breakfast was lovely and the evening meals were great.
Parking was great too ( this can be a problem in the lakes) and the hotel is situated right in the heart of windermere so a stroll after dinner is a pleasant thing to do.
Applegarth is a perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of the Lake District.

Thank you for your comment that Applegarth is the "perfect place to get away from it all" and for mentioning how fortunate we are to have such a large floodlit carpark in central Windermere with more than enough parking for all of our Guests. When you need to get away from it all you know where we are!
