We stayed at the Middlerigg Suite for two nights Dinner, Bed and Breakfast last weekend, the accommodation was stunning, clean, modern, tasteful, no expense spared on the recent refurbishment, hot tub on the balcony of each suite. The food in the main hotel restaurant was delicious, the fillet steak was the best I've ever had, the service was great.
Without doubt we'd return sooner rather than later.

The budget was well and truly blown very early on but we are absolutely delighted with the end result and it's a pleasure to see Guests such as yourselves getting so much enjoyment from them as well. Me and my partner booked this very last minute for our one year anniversary for last night, (Sunday 13th March). I'd love to list the pro's and con's below so it's easier for you to pick out the most important parts. Please note we stayed in the DEVOKE SUITE, not the hotel so this will differ from the hotel rooms.
PRO's
- Gorgeous location - free car parking is available on the hotel car parking site. Just around the corner from shops, bars and the lake.
- Professional & Friendly Greeting - The gentleman who checked us in showed us to our villa, where he explained absolutely everything. I've never experienced anything like it. He showed us how the lighting works, tips on keeping the room cool, how things work, and this was really useful as it really enhanced our experience within the villa.
- Brand new building - all the suites have been newly built, and you could definitely tell.
- Mood Lighting - their were various buttons around the room which were on panels that had different settings for each room. It was all open plan apart from the bathroom. So the bathroom had lighting, as well as lighting above the bath, I loved setting that to "Twinkle" as it just was super relaxing. The lights could be turned on/off from the outside and right next to the bedside.
- 50" TV wall mounted on the wall - the TV was amazing, incredible picture and amazing sound guide.
- Incredibly fast wifi - something which was a plus as me and my partner could answer our business emails extra fast from anywhere in the room, definitely loved the fact that we didn't have to try and find the best signal in the room.
- Remote curtains - wow! You could open and close the curtains from the wall mounted lighting panel. I loved that these curtains were also black out curtains, so no sunlight woke us up too early.
- Carpet - felt like pure silk. Didn't even want to walk across it it was that perfect!
- Jacuzzi - this was the highlight. We mainly paid the price for our private tub. The water was easily around 40degrees towards the end of the night, what an amazing way to relax! With options to sit down and lie down, you wouldn't even notice how cold it actually was outside whilst in the hot tub.
Own Coffee Machine - was great to wake up to amazing coffee.
King Size Bed - this was amazing. Everything just felt incredibly perfect.
Final comments - from the décor, to how the room was designed for luxury & romance, It was worth every single penny. We couldn't even fault it and it was definitely sad to leave. We now definitely know how we want our own home to look. Our next special occasion will definitely be spent here again.
Breakfast - breakfast was included in our price, and this was in the hotel. We was served promptly and the girls were working incredibly fast and were so polite. From the cute little jam jars to the fresh coffee and orange juice, it was just delightful.
They couldn't have changed anything, everything is spot on!

My husband and I recently stayed at the newly developed 'Great How' suite complete with a private hot tub on your own balcony!! this experience is second to none, if you are looking for a relaxing break with everything to hand and all mod-cons thrown in..then look no further than the exclusive suites at the Applegarth Villa. The hosts are very welcoming and nothing is to much trouble, we will without doubt be returning again.

With its own entrance and so much space over two floors and with a terrace and balcony it really is a great place to unwind.
A lovely treat, just spent a couple of nights in one of the Applegarth Villa's new luxury suites, Devoke. Stunning view of the hills from this suite, beautifully furnished with large smart TV in bedroom and another TV in bathroom. Nice touches like mood lighting, bluetooth speaker, coffee machine and fridge, also underfloor heating to keep you warm on cold winter days.

Stayed here with my girlfriend for a two night get away, and it lived up to the 5* rating! We enjoyed every bit of our stay, and are looking to book again in the summer. Booking between Sunday to Thursday to get the free 3 course is well worth doing. This works well if you book the Thursday and Friday and then have a long weekend away.
