“Weekend break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2012

The warm greeting we received on our arrival (after a tiring train journey with a small baby) set the standard for the weekend. We stayed in a lovely, roomy family room. Breakfasts in the lovely and airy dining room were delicious. The sitting room has a piano and is a lovely place to sit and relax with a cup of tea or glass of wine. Winderemere shops and restaurants are a few minutes walk away and Bowness a 20 min stroll. Highly recommend.

We arrived, by train, with a young baby and were so thankful for the welcoming tray of tea and home made cakes upon our arrival. The hotel was family minded, relaxing, excellent breakfast , was near the shops and a relaxing afternoon was spent watching the cricket in the sunshine.
I look forward to my next visit.

Home from home stay, the room was lovely, clean, top quality bed linen, the bed was the best Ive ever slept in away from home, plenty of tea and coffee in the room, super soft white bathrobes.Mary and Phil have this very natural way with their guests.
Quicky little things thay have added like 1001 things to do in your hotel room book, well I had to have a look, it was nothing that I thought it would be, fun/ inocent! .
Plenty of books on local walks and things to do in the area that you can borrow plus games.
The breakfast menu deserves an award every item served was top quality.
Nothing was to much trouble for this lovely couple.

Stayed midweek in July 2012, and were greeted y the friendly hosts with afternoon tea and beautiful home made cakes (had to leave room for evening meal) Information on the local area flowed from them and you could tell they knew the area well. Brilliantly situated for the lakes only minutes walk from windermere town centre and just over a mile from Bowness (15 min walk) and the waters edge.
Philip your love of real ale led me to Booths selection and wasn't disappointed you even knew landmarked real ale pubs in my local area.
Mary you should be complimeted on you cake, preserves etc absolutely beautiful.
On the whole - What a place to stay - will definitely be back

The stay was wonderful, the service was great (though it wasn't the couple who own it who looked after us as they were away) we had a wonderful time and were well looked after until it came to leaving when they hadn't noted that the bill had been paid in advance, they then charged us again for the stay when we got them to give us the money back they were slow to do so. They have also made no attempt to say sorry for their mistake. It was a really sad and disappointing end to our honeymoon and caused a lot of problems. We wouldn't stay there again.

Great location within working distance of local amenities shops and restaurants etc. Beautiful b&b expected expectations comfortable room with thoughful extras such as recent magazine editions, and good quality toiletries. Hosts Mary and Phillip were walm and welcoming and made our stay more pleasurable with their good signposting to places of interest and restaurants which we may like. Breakfasts were wonderful good choice for people who like alternatives to cooked breakfasts, local produce beautiful home made jams and marmalades good selection of fresh fruit and cereals. One of the best b&bs we have stayed in will definately visit again.

Thanks

Stayed for a long weekend with our dog. Excellent hosts, nothing was to much trouble to ensure our stay was comfortable. Very helpful and lots of advice given regarding walks around the area and places to visit of interest. Good location and within easy walking distances to most local sites. Our room was clean and well appionted with coffee and tea facilities. the breakfast was yummy, although the sausages could have been of a better standard ( Philip they were not very tasty not the norm of your excellent cooking standards!) The meal they provide on a fri/sat evening was fantastic and great value. I strongly recommend Park Road for there high standard of service, great warmth and sense of humor to lift your spirits before commencing your day.
