It is great to see hotels putting on some great deals this Autumn. I have to say this was a punt after seeing it come up as a late deal. We normally venture to Keswick so this trip enticed us back to Windermere for our stay. Good choice as this hotel was very good on many fronts. It's location in the middle between Bowness and Windermere town was superb for walking, and close proximity to the main hubs.

The staff were excellent- very well drilled on customer service and really set a high standard. We did have one minor gripe over an ad-hoc pasta dish we ordered outside of the normal set menu, but the staff recovered well to maintain a very positive experience. The food generally was delicious though.

The facilities- swimming pool, steam and sauna were fantastic after a day of walking in the rain. It was also such a friendly place to stay- our fellow guests were very chatty and the overall atmosphere of the place was one of a family-run business that delivers a very professional, down-to-earth service.

This hotel really does look after the little things and guests are rightly treated as VIP's throughout. The bar and lounge areas were cozy and the views from the hotel were stunning.

I think most people would enjoy this place. Based on our stay, there was very little not to like, and it is a very suitable hotel to return to after a busy day enjoying some of the best scenery in the World.

Booked a Travelzoo one night special with tea and scones on arrival. Chilled Prosecco was waiting in our room, had a lovely 4 course dinner and breakfast the following morning. The room, service and food were excellent and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

We stayed for a 1 night deal and have to say it was worth every penny. We had cream tea on arrival in the conservatory which was delicious, we also had a bottle of prosecco left for us in the room.

We upgraded to a lake view room (33) it was a lovely room with a large bathroom with whirlpool bath and separate shower. A king size bed and plenty of storage for your clothes. Best of all was the view, absolutely beautiful.

The evening meal was fantastic as were the staff, all v friendly and helpful. We had a great sleep followed by a great breakfast.

There is an indoor pool but we forgot our gear so did not get to use this.

I found nothing at all that I was not happy with. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

A fantastic night away

This special offer Autumn break in a cosy double room with dinner, bed and breakfast plus scone and tea/coffee on arrival and bottle of fizz in our room represented excellent value. The room was cosy but perfectly adequate, clean and well appointed. The food was all very tasty and served by friendly, efficient staff. Dinner was a most enjoyable experience and despite the portion size appearing to be on the small side we both left the restaurant very happy with our meal. The staff team was outstanding - all the staff were friendly, obliging and appeared to enjoy their work. The pool, if a little small, was ideal to sooth aching limbs after a day out walking on the fells. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and have no doubt that we will be returning!

Found this hotel through Travel Zoo,booked direct with Hillthwait house a winter warmer break for 3nts ,this included Bed Breakfast and Evening Meal. We arrived about 4:30pm and were booked in and shown to our room by very friendly helpfull staff ,We stayed in a classic zip-link double room, number 25, an upgrade from a cosy double as in original offer.
The room was a good size and very clean, as was the bathroom ,nice and warm with white fluffy towels. Our evening meal was excellent, the portions were not huge but with four courses to get through there was more than enough to satisfy moste appetites .Then on to coffee and little home made victoria sponge cakes, relaxing in the lounge infront of a roaring open fire on a chilly November evening- what could be better!!
We both slept very well in the lovely comfy bed,the room was not too hot as we could control the heat via rad thermostat ,and NO NOISE !! we enjoyed it so much we stayed a fourth night in room 241 over in the annex, it was also very nice with a view over the lake from the rooms huge patio doors and balcony. The bathroom was a bit disappointing but functional with lots of hot water and great pressure for the shower ,could do with an upgraid but this did not detract from our lovely stay.
