Just got back from a lovely weekend at the Ravensworth we have stayed there before but not for about 4 years in which time it has changed hands. There has been lots of improvements made to the hotel new en suite facilities which far exceeded the previous bathrooms, a new residents lounge has been added with Internet access. The service at breakfast was fantastic as was the breakfast, we have always been impressed at the Ravensworth and can only say that it is now even better definitely will be going again.

Thank you so much for your review and we are delighted that you have appreciated the changes that we have made over the last 3 years. As you know, because you were last here just before we moved in, the building and rooms were in need of a facelift and a revamp and we are glad that you like what we have done. It was a pleasure having you here and hopefully it wont be too long before we see you back here again. Best Regards, Nick & Cheryl

We've just come back from 2 nights stay at The Ravensworth. Lovely warm welcome from Cheryl. We upgraded to the 4 poster room and it was lovely, my boyfriend especially loved the power shower. We had a choice of breakfast times and we opted for the later time, so we didn't have to get up too early. The breakfast staff and room attendants were very friendly and made sure our tea and coffee tray was replenished.

A very short walk into Windermere village with as many restaurants and bars as you could imagine, loads of choice. Just 1 and half miles walk down to Bowden, it was nice to be close enough to walk to but not to be in the thick of it.

We found the Ravensworth a great base and a lovely warm and homely place and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in a four poster room which was lovely, we slept with the window open slightly and didn...

We stayed 2 nights for a wedding in the area. Reasonably priced for an August weekend and it included a great cooked breakfast. Friendly welcome on arrival and throughout. Breakfast was a little early as we were out late and in high season there is a bit of traffic through Windermere. As it's on the main road you can hear it when window open. Lots of parking and very clean. Would recommend as a base to explore the area. Not really walkable to the lake but there are lots of reasonably priced taxis. Overall would recommend

Thank you for your review and we are delighted that you and your friends enjoyed your weekend up here. Windermere village is literally just round the corner from us and yes, Bowness, with the lake access is a 1 mile walk (or bus or taxi ride away). We find that the majority of our guests are happy with our breakfast times (8.15-9.30am) but understand that sometimes (especially after a wedding reception) some people would prefer a bit of a lie in. Hopefully we will see you all again in the near future. Best Regards, Nick & Cheryl

We stayed for 3 nights over a weekend as in the area for a wedding. We were staying in one of the superior rooms and it really is excellent and worth the money. Room very spacious, lovely decor, great big bathroom and the small touches such as the robes etc just make it such a lovely place to stay. Add to that the excellent breakfast, friendly staff and excellent location at the top end of the Main Street in Windermere makes this a heavily recommended hotel.

3 other sets of friends also stayed in the hotel and all agree it was a great place to stay.

We have just spent a two night break at this wonderful B & B, we were greeted by Nick on arrival, he welcomed us in and showed us the guest lounge and where breakfast was served. They have a DVD player in every room and a big selection of DVD's which you can take to your room and watch, never had this option before and it's one I like! The room was big and the king bed was comfy, no issue's at all. Breakfast was very good, a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, fruit juice, I had the cumbrian grill on the first morning, quality sausage and bacon, it was all very good. My girlfriend had eggs benedict, she loved it! We were going walking on the Sunday and I asked if some packed lunches could be arranged, not a problem and these were good too! All in all we had a very good weekend and this was a perfect place to stay!

Owners & Little Tommy very friendly Tea & cake on arrival which is a lovely touch.
The whole place is very clean & tidy. Very good choice of breakfast from fresh fruit to the full English which is freshly cooked.
The rooms are very comfy and the shower was great very powerful .
The only little grip we had was our window opened inwards so there was no air as it was very hot when we stayed but apart from that could not fault it was so ever.

Room Tip: All rooms are great
