My wife Denise and I have stayed in the Ravensworth four times now and would not go anywhere else. Nick and Cheryl make us feel so welcome and we can't believe the change in young Thomas. We stay a couple of weeks in July and August and just love it so much we look forward to coming back soon. A short stroll to the bus station and we can go anywhere in the Lakes District. Miss you all so much. Bob and Denise Scott Gold Coast Australia

Myself & my wife stayed at Ravensworth on 12-14th of Nov, our daughters had gave us as a gift for my wifes 70th birthday. the proprietor Nick made us very welcome & provided us with a 1st class service. Our stay include a mini cruise of the lakes & a spa pass for the McDonald hotel in Bowness. On arrival at the hotel Nick welcomed us with tea & cakes which hit the spot after our car journey down from Glasgow. The guest house was very clean, comfortable & homely. We would certainly recommend the Ravensworth & we will visit again when we go to the Lakes.

Thank you so much for your review and comments, we are delighted that you had such an enjoyable weekend with us. We would like to point out to future guests that these guests had bought a package deal that we were running this autumn and that all of the 'extras' such as cruise tickets and the fruit bowl in the room were part of the package. They are not usually included in our standard bed and breakfast rates. Saying this, they are available to pre-purchase from us if you book direct with us over our own website

We really enjoyed our 2 night break last weekend staying at the Ravensworth. Our stay included the mountain bike hire complete with a great picnic lunch. The recommended cycle around lake Windemere and into Hawkshead was amazing, a fantastic way to explore. We then made the most of the complimentary spa passes at a nearby hotel in Bowness! The atmosphere was really relaxing and the breakfasts just the best, Nick & Cheryl really make a huge effort to make everyone welcome - thank you. Windemere itself is nice but quite quiet in an evening so its worthwhile heading down to Bowness where there are some really nice pubs and restaurants. We would really recommend the Ravensworth. Thank you for you review, we always appreciate guests taking the time to post comments regarding their visits to us. We are delighted you had such an enjoyable time and yes, you are right about Bowness being a bit livelier in an evening than Windermere is, especially in November, but some people prefer that so we are fortunate to have both villages within walking distance from us. Many Thanks and we hope to see you again soon. Best Regards, Nick & Cheryl.

We arrived a little earlier than anticipated, to a warm welcome from Nick who the then gave us a tour of the B&B and provided details on the facilities and local area. We were given a complimentary cruise voucher and spa pass which were both an excellent way to spend our Saturday and a very welcome addition to the weekend. Once unpacked we were invited to take complimentary coffee and cake in the lounge again very welcome after a long drive. The room itself was clean, and well maintained, although a little on the small side for us and overlooked a busy road with constant traffic all day long, however there are other rooms to the rear which we were told were quieter. The room was very well stocked with tea/coffee, biscuits and a fruit platter, again very thoughtful. The location of the hotel is an excellent base with easy walking access to Windermere where there are plenty of restaurants to try, we particularly enjoyed Giotto, as well as being in a good location to explore further a field with Bowness quite close by. Breakfast was good, service quick and efficient with offers of extra toast and coffee if needed, the only negative may be more fruit options, but apart from that lovely pleasant location in the conservatory, good food and friendly service. I would definitely stay at the B&B again due to the warm welcome and great location, although I would pay extra for a larger room at the rear next time. Thank you to our wonderful hosts for a lovely stay.

Drove up from Essex, and upon arrival we greeted with tea and homemade cake and shown to our room, which was a nice size and very comfortable. After the second day we decided to stay an extra night.... Speaks for itself. So to conclude, very very good highly recommend and what a lovely breakfast!! Will definitely return. Such a lovely cosy b&b. Great welcoming. We got a short tour around the place and were giving alot of information about the location which I really appreciated as other places I've been to want to check you in asap and don't want to chat. Room was very clean and loved the decor. Breakfast was great with Nick making sure everything was great for us and with very friendly service. The b&b is very relaxed and quiet with a great location with bars and restaurants just a few minutes away and a short walk to lake Windermere. Defiantly would recommend to others. Loved it :)
