We got to The Ravensworth to be greeted by Nick who was very welcoming. He showed us around the house so that we knew where the lounge and breakfast area were which was helpful. He then showed us to our room which I loved on sight. It was nicely decorated and spotless. It had a larger than average king size bed, massive patio windows and a lovely little patio outside, which unfortunately we did not use because of the weather, however my husband and I did say that when the weather picks up or in summer it would be beautiful out there. I can already see myself enjoying a glass of wine on that patio. The bathroom was fab, really modern and immaculate and the shower was amazing. We went to a local pub and had a really good night with all the locals and then returned to The Ravensworth where we slept very comfortably. I didn't go for breakfast as I don't really do mornings!!!! but my husband assured me it was lovely and he was sorry he didn't say I was coming down to eat so he could have mine. Overall a lovely Saturday night break. Thanks Nick and Cheryl. Nikki and Dave Phillips x

Thank you so much for your review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, even though it was a short one. Many guests enjoy our patio rooms, especially in the summer and hopefully we will have some sunshine for you next time you are here. Best regards, Nick & Cheryl.

The ravensworth was very easy to find when coming into windermere, it is near a lot of good restaurants and if you go to Orrest head, some great views of the lake. The lake is about a one and half mile walk, which is easy access down to bowness where most of the tourists go and the shops are. We were made to feel very welcome by nick on arrival. We stayed in the standard room on the second floor which was comfortable, homely, great facilities and plenty of information, there is a safe in the room too, great parking at the B and B. There is a lot of choice for breakfast and is relatively quiet in a morning if you get up early, the only thing that didn't work was the wifi internet access on the second floor which is rectifiable, everywhere else was ok. Otherwise great location to start exploring the lakes.

Thank you so much for your review and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. We have many guests commenting on our breakfasts and they certainly do set you up for the day. With regards to the wifi on the top floor, we have looked at this and reset the booster box that lengthens the signal and everything is now back to normal. Best Regards, Nick & Cheryl

My wife Denise and I have stayed in the Ravensworth four times now and would not go anywhere else. Nick and Cheryl make us feel so welcome and we can't believe the change in young Thomas. We stay a couple of weeks in July and August and just love it so much we look forward to coming back soon. A short stroll to the bus station and we can go anywhere in the Lakes District. Miss you all so much. Bob and Denise Scott Gold Coast Australia

Myself & my wife stayed at Ravensworth on 12-14th of Nov, our daughters had gave us as a gift for my wifes 70th birthday. the proprietor Nick made us very welcome & provided us with a 1st class service. Our stay include a mini cruise of the lakes & a spa pass for the McDonald hotel in Bowness. On arrival at the hotel Nick welcomed us with tea & cakes which hit the spot after our car journey down from Glasgow. The guest house was very clean, comfortable & homely. We would certainly recommend the Ravensworth & we will visit again when we go to the Lakes.

Thank you so much for your review and comments, we are delighted that you had such an enjoyable weekend with us. We would like to point out to future guests that these guests had bought a package deal that we were running this autumn and that all of the 'extras' such as cruise tickets and the fruit bowl in the room were part of the package. They are not usually included in our standard bed and breakfast rates. Saying this, they are available to pre-purchase from us if you book direct with us over our own website

We really enjoyed our 2 night break last weekend staying at the Ravensworth. Our stay included the mountain bike hire complete with a great picnic lunch. The recommended cycle around lake Windemere and into Hawkshead was amazing, a fantastic way to explore. We then made the most of the complimentary spa passes at a nearby hotel in Bowness! The atmosphere was really relaxing and the breakfasts just the best, Nick & Cheryl really make a huge effort to make everyone welcome - thank you. Windemere itself is nice but quite quiet in an evening so its worthwhile heading down to Bowness where there are some really nice pubs and restaurants. We would really recommend the Ravensworth. Thank you for you review, we always appreciate guests taking the time to post comments regarding their visits to us. We are delighted you had such an enjoyable time and yes, you are right about Bowness being a bit livelier in an evening than Windermere is, especially in November, but some people prefer that so we are fortunate to have both villages within walking distance from us. Many Thanks and we hope to see you again soon. Best Regards, Nick & Cheryl.
