Just spent 2 nights at this hotel with our little dog who was made very welcome. The bedroom was really nice, patio door leading out onto the gardens, big comfy bed, lovely big white fluffy towels and plenty of hot water. We ate at the hotel and the meal was one of the best we have had in a long time, beef, venison, salmon, lovely cheeses, excellent house wine. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to look after you. I don't eat breakfast, but my friends enjoyed a hearty breakfast cooked to order. Will make sure we go there again

5 of us stayed here about a week ago for 1 night. A lovely friendly lady met us at reception and showed us to our rooms (booked 3 rooms between 5 of us), we booked 2 rooms that would be next door to each other when the lady showed us to each room one was upstairs (think it was room 10) and the other downstairs and quite a way off. We then went back to reception saying the rooms we booked would be next to each other anyway we eventually got rooms next door. Room 6 & 7, and the others in room 1, just down the corridor. Rooms are very clean and bathrooms really modern. We were told the hotel was fully booked but we didn't see many people at night or breakfast and this was the half-term week. We had the 3 course meal and a bottle of house wine that we found out on the bill was £18 (a little overpriced?) We were expecting it to be busy but 5 of us, 2 couples and a family of 3 in the dining room, we were quite relieved that we could enjoy our meal in peace. Meal was excellent very nice. When we walked back to our rooms we noticed on the 2 stairs near the rooms they were thread bare. Showers in rooms not that powerful, my bed was quite hard and couldn't move around as the back of the bed hit the wall, thus thinking I was waking next door up. Breakfast and the lovely lady was back on duty, very helpfull and asked if everything was ok. There was a surprise when going back to the rooms, all the beds were made for the next guests. Our belongings were still unpacked and lying around when the maids have been in and made the beds, we felt rushed to check out. We asked if we could leave one of our cars on the carpark which they were happy about. We came back in the afternoon and the lady we saw on check-in and at breakfast waved us off. Overall it was a good hotel with minor blips.

We stayed with our dog for two nights midweek B and B with a TravelZoo deal. We ate both nights in the restaurant with a free bottle of wine on the first if we had three courses.
The food was delicious and well presented but we were sad to see that on the first night, there were three couples and on the second , only two. I suspect the £30 for 3 courses or £25 for 2 courses with coffee appears expensive for some but you get what you pay for. The produce was fresh , local and there was a very good choice.
Our room opened out onto the garden which was great should the dog need to go out in the middle of the night. One slight niggle , the centre piece of wood on the wardrobe was hanging off and needed to be hammered back on and the downstair carpet on the stairs upto the rooms along the corridor was threadbare on the edges. However the service was friendly yet professional . An excellent breakfast , plenty of choice and I am told that the cooked part of it was good. The croissants were warm and it was nice to see fresh fruit available.
All in all , I would recommend a stay here

Room Tip: Room 1 was a twin with a small patio area. Would be lovely in the summer

We stayed here from the 12th -14th february in room 8.
The hotel is situated just off the main road so easy to find, spacious car park within the entrance.

The staff were friendly and always smiling, room 8 was lovely, nice sized bed, lovely patio door with a view to the garden. Really nice view.
Bathroom was great, shower was nice, towels were nice soft and fluffy.
The only disappointing thing about the room was the TV its far too small one of the smallest ive ever seen in a hotel or B&B.
We had to stop in the room most of the day due to the horrendous weather so we decided to try and watch the TV but unless you sit on the edge of the bed you have trouble seeing it properly.
They should really invest in larger TV's!
Breakfast was lovely! Couldnt fault it except for when i asked for the platter i told the waiter i didnt like fried bread or the tomato, he didnt offere alternatives so i had a pretty small breakfast. What was there was lovely.
Overall our stay was fine and apart from the tv and the breakfast alternatives we have no major complaints. Would definately stay here again. Lee & Jill

We recently stayed at the hotel for the weekend. On arrival the gentleman at the desk seemed a bit stand offish, however he was of the following day so this may have been an off day.
The room is nice, possibly the smallest tv ive seen in a hotel for a long time! Complimentary biscuits and tea etc were great.
The bathrooms are lovely with great towels but the shower was quite poor really, not powerful at all.
Breakfast whilst nice is only served between 8:30-9:30, I think the times should be extended as it wouldnt suit people on business or anyone wanting a relaxing lie in of a weekend.
The hotel is fine,I wouldn't pay the full price but if you could get a deal, then its not too bad.

What more could we want, the friendliness of the reception, waiting, bar staff excellent. Large comfortable room and nice warm bathroom with spa bath and large shower cubicle, fluffy towels and excellent toiletries. Very good breakfast. We had dinner on both nights, excellent menu and as we were on a KGB deal, free bottle of wine. Any downside breakfast slightly late for us, so we had to rush, possibly a little update on downstairs decorating but this is just being picky, Jackie and John

Room Tip: Just ask for a quiet room.

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff but nothing much more to stay. Dinner offer was a fixed 3 course for £30. I just wanted a main course ant the accommodated this at £17.95. Breakfast starts at 8.30 which is too late for me as I was there on business and needed an 8pm breakfast at the latest. Free WiFi was good. Parking was fine.
