Spend 2 nights at the Briery Wood on a Travelzoo voucher which proved very good value, which included a 3 course meal on the First night.
Our room was clean and comfortable with a patio onto the fantastic garden area. The staff were very friendly and the breakfasts were class,The Lake District is a beautiful part of the country and recommend this hotel....

Had a one night pleasant stay here in a room overlooking the garden - room 8. Nice clean bathroom but it was small. Also the TV in the room was exceptionally small but other than that we we enjoyed the stay. Paid £100 for B&B through late rooms. Would have stayed another night but they were hosting a conference and were full.

Thought the staff were efficient and helpful. Would rank this hotel as a very good middle range hotel in the Lakes. The carpet in the public areas is threadbare in places and needs replacing. Needs some money spent on it to bring it up to scratch but for what we paid, it was absolutely fine.

A warm welcome on arrival, beautiful setting, ideal for a wedding lovely garden for photographs.
Lovely quiet room at the back of hotel, with comfy bed and nice bathroom. Close to Ambleside, we used the bus, was handy for Windermere too.
Dinner was excellent and well presented as was breakfast, with a good choice to suit everyone.
I would highly recommend this friendly hotel, an d will definitely return again in the future.

We have just had the most enjoyable stay at the Briery Wood Country House Hotel. We had a 2 night break with breakfasts and dinner on the first night included. The food was excellent. So much so that we also had dinner there on the 2nd evening. The staff were all extremely friendly and polite. We were initially greeted on our arrival by a lovely lady who was very jolly. She booked us in and showed us to our very spacious room with beautiful views of the delightful garden. The room had everything we needed and was very clean. The area is breathtakingly beautiful and situated between Windermere and Ambleside. The lake is stunning. We were lucky enough to have perfect summer weather and enjoyed driving around the countryside off the beaten track. Keswick is a lovely town to visit as are the other local towns and villages. We were more than happy to arrive back at the hotel after trips out to sit in the sunny garden with a cool drink before dinner. Other guests were very friendly and all seemed to be of the same opinion as ourselves about how lovely it is. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone and would be very happy to stay there again. Thank you so much to all staff for making it such a lovely break. Juliet and Richard

I booked this place for a meeting with colleagues - it's main business is training and leadership conferences, so they really know how to look after business travellers. Really attentive service, very well proportioned rooms and a real bonus was beautiful weather and each of our rooms having a patio with chairs and tables. It has a variety of lounges, so we were easily able to find space and privacy to talk and plan together. A further bonus was pretty extensive landscaped grounds with some pretty good views over Windermere. What I like about this place is that it is pretty uncompromising on service etc.., but somehow manages at the same time to have a real "home from home" feel - exactly what you want when you are away on business. (though other guests (including families) were obviously leisure users and had no complaints) We managed to take advantage of a very good "all in" package on Sunday evening so all got pretty good value for money. Restaurant meal was great (probably the best cooked scallops I've ever eaten) and breakfast was pretty high spec. All in all a great place, particularly if you can get one of their deals.

Room Tip: We had rooms 1,2 and 3 - they were really big and had french doors and patios

I was particularly impressed with the staff at this hotel, who were smiling, happy and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and healthy (I'm dairy intolerant so that helps!). Rooms were very clean with lovely comfortable beds.

We had a really cheap offer 2 night break with 1 dinner 2 breakfasts so our expectations were not high. On arrival we were given help to get our luggage up the few stairs to our garden rooms. The carpeted hallways did indeed look quite tired but very clean. HOWEVER the room was really CLEAN with a comfortable bed , access to lovely patio and garden, and the staff service and food were amazing. Clean rooms lovely ambience great food and coffee and everyone SO helpful. Will definitely recommend - it was a great break that FAR EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS

Room Tip: We only saw the garden rooms and enjoyed our private patio on to the garden
