Had a fantastic time at the cragwood country house. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The house and grounds are beautiful, we had a slight problem with the shower which was very quickly dealt with and we got complimentary prosecco and breakfast for the trouble. Would definitely stay here again very nice and cosey.

We have just come back from Cragwood country house after getting married there, and it was amazing! We did the "just the 2 of us" package, so no guests and very intimate. The staff were all fantastic and made it everything we hoped it would be - one of our witnesses even cried in the ceremony! The food was to die for, room was huge with dual aspect views over the Lake, and of course the setting was just perfect - they even managed to order the sun to shine on the 1st of February! Whether you are looking for somewhere to get married, or just want to stay in a beautiful and relaxed hotel to explore the Lake District I would recommend this to anyone - when we next go (and we will!) we will probably take our dogs too as it is dog friendly!

We have just visited the Cragwood Country House Hotel for a romantic weekend couple of weeks ago and have nothing but praise for the quality of accommodation, food and service. Food is excellent. Breakfasts are generous and very good. Thank you.

My partner and I visited in January after my parents bought us a voucher for Christmas. It was simply wonderful. The surroundings, both internally and externally, were lovely. We arrived just before three and we were personally shown to our room by the receptionist, he was very friendly and spoke passionately about the hotel and it's facilities. We then went down to the old part of the hotel for cream tea which was included with the voucher. We were given a selection of teas to choose from and then shortly after our cream tea arrived, it was excellently presented and tasted great. We then sat by the window looking out at the amazing view while we drank some of the extensive choice of gins and played cards, Jenga, battleships and trivial pursuit (all provided by the hotel).
We then retired to our room to get ready for the evening meal. We were in room 12 and it was very roomy and the shower was powerful and lovely and hot!
The evening meal was superb. It was a 5 course menu and we enjoyed a bottle of wine too. Every single bit of the food was an excellent standard and we eat in Michelin starred restaurants a few times a year and it was definitely on par. The service was also excellent, attentive burnt too intrusive. The only hint I would give is to ensure guests sign for the meal and add a section for a tip as we did not have cash and therefore we didn't have an opportunity to give one which we would have liked.
The next morning we had breakfast and again the food was superb, absolutely no complaints! Very tasty and good sized portion.
Check out was stress free with the bill being presented in an itemised format and all correct.
We would definitely return.

The cragwood hotel is a loverly hotel set in some beautiful grounds which overlook lake windermere. The staff are all really friendly and take the time to have a chat with everyone.
We had a loverly room in the old part of the hotel and we had a view over the lake. The bar is well stocked in Gin (60) and Whiskey (34) plus loads more.
Excellent stay and we will be going back.
