Brilliant place to stay, everything we needed and much more. Spotlessly clean and right in the centre of Windermere, close to the pubs, restaurants, shops, etc. Gillean the housekeeper was lovely, friendly and helpful. Booked again for next New year, couldn't risk losing out on this little gem we have just found.

We were impressed as soon as we walked through the door.
The property was very cosy with lovely clean carpet and furniture.
Well equipped kitchen, just what we needed for 2 people.
The bed was amazing so very comfortable.
Perfect location within walking distance to the shops and pubs/restaurants.
We did some great walks while we stayed. The log burner was fab after a long walk!
The only thing which let the place down was the parking. We could not get parked outside the property. Resident parking permits should be in operation as we noticed due to parking costs around the town people who work in town were parking in the street all day!!
Otherwise we absolutely loved the place and would certainly go back.

“Great Break”

My partner and i had a mid week break at red bank and were not disappointed, The accommodation was very clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped. It has a lovely cosy cottage feel whilst also being spacious. For those (like us) without a car it is conveniently situated, only a few mins walk to train station, bus stops and local amenities. It was great to meet the lovely couple who caretake the property and the cat who sat on the bin.

“Lovely snug, romantic place”

I spent three nights here with my girlfriend and as far as we are concerned ... this place has everything! It's ideally situated, only five minutes from the train station. The apartment was kept spotless. It's cosy and warm; the furniture is nice and the Wi-Fi is smooth. A lot of accessories are made available: there's cups and plates and utensils in the kitchen; a charger for your phones; a drawer full of maps; a notice board covered with posters and leaflets detailing things to do in the locale; and (my favourite touch) the digibox is stuffed with hundreds of movies available for your viewing at no cost!

We did have teeny bit of trouble with the door. The trick is to make sure the door is fully pressed in, then turn the key in the lock while the handle is up.

“great place to unwind after a day of hiking/sightseeing”
Reviewed 27 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

it was so nice after a chilly day hiking to come back to Red Bank, cook a quick dinner ,sit on the couch and light a fire in the fireplace. we found the kitchen and the entire apartment well stocked with appliances. The apartment is comfortable and relaxing and very quiet.less than a 5 minute walk to the bus stop, the train station, grocery stores, tourist information, and the Elleray Pub, one of our favorites. It has much less traffic than the main road just half a block away. Red Bank is definitely where we will stay on our next trip to Windermere. if, like us, you do not have a car in Windermere you can carry easily a small fake log to burn from the booths grocery store just up the street.

Liked least: The key pickup did not include instructions for resetting the box, but I think Jane has since corrected that.

This cottage is in a good location. Very cosy, warm and comfortable. Tastefully decorated and very clean.
The only complaint would be the shower, not very powerful, but didnt bother us for 3 nights stay.
All in all a really lovely stay and we would definitely stay there again.
