“The Best Bed and Breakfast you could ever want to stay in”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2010

I found the Waterford online by googling 4/5 star Bed and Breakfast.I liked the website and when I spoke to Simon on the phone he was very helpful and friendly. We went with my Mother and father in law, and they are very hard to please. After a long and hot journey of 7 hours in a car( with stops) we arrived to be met by the car and Karen helped carry the bags to the rooms .
Karen and Simon go that extra mile all the time!! It was immaculate, I have only ever seen a shower room that clean in a showroom and when we chatted to Simon about his cleaning routine , I think every cleaning product company must love him!!!
They have thought of every little detail to make your stay comfortable, a guest survival kit in a box with every little thing that you may have forgotten to take, Only in top notch hotels have I ever found Bathrobes and slippers for guests and yet in every room they have them for their guests. At breakfast there is lovely white china and linen napkins. If you want you can pre-order different breakfasts which I thought was great. My In laws always have a moan or two about whever they stop and yet they loved The Waterford, not one bad comment or negative word passed their lips!!!!...believe me that is unheard of!
I think we are down as the drinkers now as we had several drinks fron the bar and relaxed in the front garden which is also very pretty .
We came to see family and we only ever visit Blackpool for this reason , not to holiday and now I have found The Waterford my whole view of the area has gone up Tenfold. We will most certainly be going back

Walking distance from the centre of Blackpool or you can jump on a Tram, the stops at the bottom of the road. The Hotel itself is small & cosy with friendly owners. Our room which was a double, was a little on the small side but that aside it contained everything we needed and more and as we were only staying for 2 nights it was fine. Breakfast was brilliant there was plenty of choice and even 2 menus. We will definatly be going back next year but next time we will be paying extra for a king size room.

Had my 40th birthday weekend in blackpool ,and stayed at the waterford .Has an excellent location on north shore ,just off the seafront . We had a sea view room ,just that little bit out of the hustle of blackpool, but close enough to get to all the nighlife , What a place to stay . Excellent all the way . from checking in to leaving . the rooms were immaculate, and very tastefully furnished ..All the little extras like lovely white bath robes ,and slippers .,emergency kit .,clothes brush .even a small ironing board. You couldnt ask for more . The hosts Karen and Simon were brilliant ,could not do enough .The Breakasts were beautifully cooked by simon to order ,and the choice brill ,staying in a five star hotel ,you wouldnt be offered half as much choice ,i chose the smoked salmon ,and creamy scrambled eggs, delicious . well done simon.we will definitly be staying here on our next visit to Blackpool. would never stay anywhere else now we have found the waterford. Thank you both very much for making my weekend that bit more special .

We stayed at the Waterford for one night back in February this year when we went to a gig at the Empress Ball Rooms, I realise I am a little delayed in posting this review but after feeling compelled to write a bed reveiw about a different guest house a group of freinds & me stayed in recently in Blackpool I thought it only fair I come on to big this one up :-)

The Waterford is a lovely place to stay, Simon & Karen greeted us on our arrival, very friendly hosts, they showed us the breakfast room & little lounge / bar area then took us up to show us our room. The room was quite small but perfectly adequate for what we needed, it had nice modern decor & there were tea /coffee making facilities, 2 small chilled bottles of water, a t.v etc (everything you would need for a short stay) the bathroom was a decent size with a nice shower & basic toiletries were provided - shower Gel/Shampoo, also a little bowl with cotton wool & cotton buds in. I must say I have never seen a bathroom so clean in my life (apart from in a showroom !!).

The breakfast was superb, very well cooked (not greasy like some cooked brekies can be) lots of toast & we even got some fried potatoes :-) Good choice of cerials & juice.

Location wise this accomodation is good, in a quiter area a short way out of the centre - about 15 minutes walk to the tower etc which didnt bother us but if you dont want to walk bus & tram stops are only 2/3 mins walk away.

To summarise this is a very nice place to stay at a reasonable price !! If my husband & I visit Blackpool again & need a place to stay we will definietly try & book in here.

We stayed there from the 6th Aug to the 10th Aug and Simon and Karen made it so easy for us. Any questions they always came up with the answer. Their Guest House/Hotel was something else and they should be very proud of what they have achieved. The breakfasts were something else. The room was a luxury and a joy to come back to. It has certainly opened our eyes as to what to expect in Blackpool. It was so close to all things that Blackpool is famous for, the beach, the promenade, the trams and the buses, everything within easy reach. Thank you again Karen and Simon.
