My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights over New Year and had the best time.

Every bit of the hotel that I saw was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We stayed in Room 4, heaven! Comfy bed, huge balcony (although the weather wasn't quite right for it ;) ), large bathroom with heavenly whirlpool bath and super power shower, large tv and DVD selection. My favourite touch in the bedroom was the "survival kit", full of bit and bobs you might need, tweezers, nail clipper, nail varnish remover pads, shoe shine and so on, they really did think of everything.

Breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty with a great choice. All of the staff were very welcoming, helpful and down to earth, not a frown in sight.

I've already recommended this hotel to several people and will, without a doubt, go back and stay again.

Room tip: Room 4! But I have no doubt that all of the rooms as just as good.

I can't praise this hotel enough! Keep telling everyone about it. Beautifully decorated luxurious rooms. All attention to detail is there, down to the selection of biscuits in your room, the toiletries in the basket, slippers & dressing downs. Luxurious rooms, massive comfy beds, huge TV's (even in the bathroom!), and fantastic service. Breakfast, to order, is delicious & freshly cooked. The owner is charming. A 'must stay' if in Blackpool.

We usually stay at the Big Blue whenever we visit Blackpool, but recently we have found that the price had been increasing and the standards dropping so we decided to try somewhere new. We aren't keen on the low budget B&B's and I had read about Number One in a magazine ages ago and kept meaning to try it. As soon as we arrived I knew we were in for a great experience - the welcome from the young girl on reception was warm, friendly and helpful and although we had arrived early we were soon checked into our room with no fuss. The room was large, beautifully decorated, very high-tech and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious and all aspects of the service were brilliant. If I had to find fault with anything....1 would be that we were in room 8 which had an adjoining door to room 10 and there was absolutely no soundproofing at all between these rooms. There was a family in room 10 with very young children who shouted and squealed constantly...it was so loud they may as well have been in bed with us! I would never book one of these rooms again unless I was travelling in a large party and wanted to use them together to make a large suite. 2 minor gripes...1 is that the guest information in the rooms was quite out of date as lists now defunct attractions, outdated pricing, etc and recommends using tickets as the most cost effective way of enjoying the Pleasure Beach but I can't see that this is cost effective now that there is a £5 admission fee if not buying a wristband and not when you consider the reasonable price of a band and there are always offers to take advantage of. Also, the TV in the bathroom was a bit of a waste of time as only had 3 working channels and 2 of these were sports. All these things were only minor and overall didn't impact on the enjoyment of our stay. We will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone.

Room tip: Don't have either of the adjoining rooms if you want a good nights sleep and a lie in!
