just back from a weekend away with 10 girls, didnt start off well when we went to book in he tried to tell us we were a hen party which we werent and that he wanted a £100 dep per room, which we refused to give as we never told before hand then tried to tell us the family rooms were 2 adutls and 1 one child, when i booked i clearly informed the agency i was booking with that it was 3 adults, hotel was nice, breakfeast was also nice but was only served for one hour in the morning, one of the rooms was very cold, one of the more expensive hotels to stay in, one of the group didnt arrive untill the next day, so we asked could herself and the girl who was in the other single room be moved into a twin room and he charged and extra £10 for the cleaning of the linnen, turned out to be a nice stay after night porter very nice man, the manager/owner let us keep our bags in the hotel untill we were ready to go even do the hotel closed at 10.30pm and there was just the 11 us that stayed that weekend

Dear Catherine, thank you for taking the time to write this review. Firstly you were all great guests and hope you will come and stay with us again. To explain, as a family friendly hotel, we do not always accommodate all female or male parties and we are therefore cautious when we are confronted with big groups without prior knowledge. As in this case because family rooms were booked, we were expecting parents and children. As such the rooms are priced for 2 adults and child sharing. Additional charge is applicable when three adults want to share a family room. This is clearly stated on the room descriptions when booking on line. However, because you did assure us that your group was not a Hen party and as a matter of good- will, no extra charges were taken and nor did we require deposits. Just to clarify, the website does indicate that we do not accommodate all male or female parties unless they have booked direct with the hotel when at our discretion we may take the booking with preauthorised deposit taken against each room which is fully refundable on departure. You may see this practice undertaken by many hotels nationally. I hope this explains the confusion and that it does not deter you from staying with us again in the near future.

Lovely stay, went up for work with a large group. We all stayed here, the staff were again very friendly and the service was great. Small rooms due to the age of the property but full of character and superb location.

the hotel is in the best place, on the sea front, tram stop outside, 5 mins to tower and the service was great!
Service was very friendly although the resturant got our order completely wrong one night! the waiter couldn't apologise enough and even bought my husband a drink to apologise more!
the entertainment was totally BLACKPOOL! Camp, caberet, bingo etc! the kids enjoyed it.
our room (family of 4) was fine but unfortunately the rest of the hotel was stuck in the 80's and in need of a good refurb, threadbare carpet on the stairs, hallway wallpaper badly scuffed and in need of repainting. the bar area had wicker work trimmings that looked very dated!
All in all it was fine for us as last minute bookers, resonabley priced and lovely people that owned it. If they ever have a refurb, I'll book again, but not until!

Room Tip: rooms with a sea view will be noisey as this hotel is on the main stretch inbetween north and south...

excellent location. Reception, lounge and bar area spotless and well maintained, the sun lounge especially great to sit and look at the sea. All staff in the hotel were polite and helpful, from the reception to the night porters and cleaners.

We had a ground floor room at the back of the bar area. No way was this a double room, you could not move round the bed at all, and your nose nearly got sliced off when the bathroom door was opened. We were only staying 2 nights and had already changed rooms once as the other one was smelly. The towels and bed linen were clean and of a decent standard. Bathroom small and dated, and docor what you would expect.

We used the restaurant one night has an out side guest and the food was lovely. The breakfast is cooked to order and is very good, with a selection of cereals etc. Although you are put at the back of the dinning room which is quite dismall, when there is a lovely light seating area at the front. Bar prices average and a good selection. Entertainment was ok, but we didn't go for that anyway. The sandwiches etc at supper time were a nice touch and they were very fresh and tasty.

I know this review is late, but having read all the negative reviews I felt I had to tell you our experience of this hotel.

We would stay here again.
