Me and my wife where asked by my mum and dad if we wanted to join them for a weekend in Blackpool, the weekend was an "entertainment" weekend where the hotel would put on a singer on the friday and saturday night, although this type of thing isn't really our 'cup of tea' we needed a break so thought 'why not'.and it was the best weekend we've had in ages.
We arrived friday afternoon at the hotel to a warm welcome by one of the staff and given our room key,our room was on the 3rd floor, though there was a lift so that wasn't a problem. our room was quite small (though i think the rooms on the other floors where larger) with en-suite bathroom, though they where very clean. the bathroom was fully tiled and had a shower etc.
Our weekend at the hotel included breakfast and evening meal, and upon arrival was told that our meal would be ready at 5.30,we made our way to the dinning room which was well laid out and spotless.we where given vegetable soup with bread & butter followed by a turkey dinner and a choice of deserts, which all seamed home made and was perfect and a nice change from the usual fried burger and chips that gets served in Blackpool, the following night we had roast beef and yorkshires which was cooked to perfection..
The staff where very friendly and couldn't do enough for us, the bar area was great and the entertainment perfect. we really enjoyed our stay at the Delton Hotel and we would happily stay there again. The only downside is that the hotel is located just past the Pleasure Beach,so the area is a little quite and quite far from the nightlife of the main town area, although that could be an advantage as we didn't need to leave the hotel at night. Very Recommended.
