“Fantastic little Bed and Breakfast”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

We stayed here for four nights in August 2014. The owners Jay and Laura made us feel very welcome from the start - even keeping an eye out and moving our car for us when a space became available so we didn't have to worry about paying at the nearby car park. The place was spotlessly clean, our room was very clean and comfortable, tea, coffee and milk was replenished every day and towels were also changed daily. Nothing was too much trouble, we paid £70 a night for four nights for a family room which was actually two interlinking rooms, the smaller one with bunk beds and a TV and playstation. We felt this was an extremely reasonable price for the excellent service we received, and the lovely room we had. Breakfast was excellent and was cooked to order, we saw that someone complained on here before that they were asked to decide on their breakfast the night before and to be seated between 9 and 915, but we thought this was a brilliant idea as it enabled Jay and Laura to provide an excellent service the next day with no waiting around - breakfast on each day was lovely, tea and coffee and toast was also plentiful and replenished whenever we wanted, and we could change our breakfast order the night before whenever we wanted. Travelling with a two and fourteen year old can sometimes be challenging, and Jay and Laura were really helpful. Jay was excellent with kids keeping all the kids entertained at breakfast with magic tricks! Must have been good as even my 14 year old was impressed!! We left feeling like we had made some good friends, and if we return to Blackpool again, this will definitely be our first port of call. Quick note about location, only 10 minute walk to Tower, tram only a couple of mins away and nearby beach, but generally quiet at night which was what we wanted. Thanks again, Jay and Laura.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this lovely B&B.

We had the family room which was great. The kids had their own en-suite toilet and sink as well as us and we had the shower facility too.
The rooms were tastefully decorated and the beds very comfy we had a lovely tidy room each day and clean towels-Thank you Laura.

Laura and Jay were brill hosts and we loved the little tricks Jay performed at breakfast for our 8 year old she thought Jay was great and made him some loom bands in blue and white he wanted. The kids loved the hosts and they were so informative advising us the best places to eat and visit.

Breakfast was served at 9am and you did choose your menu the night before but to us it wasn't a problem the breakfast was hot delicious and non greasy. You can change your menu the night before if you wanted to alter your choice of breakfast the next day.

Overall an excellent B & B at an excellent price well worth a visit with lovely hosts that are more like friends thank you again Jay and Laura x

Stayed here with my little family, very welcoming hosts and super comfortable room and we slept really well. In the morning breakfast was very enjoyable and the kids loved it :)
Very close to town centre but super quiet, not far from beach.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review it is lovely to know you found the guest house to be just what you needed for your break away, it was lovely to see your daughter again after her visit with her grandparents previously and to meet your other daughter too. who are delightful children and a credit to you both. We visit Blackpool most weekends and if they have rooms Jays Mayfair is always our first choice. I am really fussy about cleanliness and i have to say i cannot fault it. The rooms are spotless, very tastefully decorated, with clean crisp sheets and fluffy towels(which are changed daily). There is a very generous supply of tea, coffee sugar etc.Jay and Laura are brilliant hosts and i can honestly say are now our friends. They have a wealth of knowledge of Blackpool and the surrounding area and always go the extra mile to make your stay a special one. The breakfast can only be described as perfect, loads of choice and always served piping hot with an endless supply of tea and coffee. Other b&b could certainly learn a lot from Jays Mayfair and i wouldnt hesitate to highly recommend. Will definitely be booking again soon.

Room Tip: Room 1 is our favourite very cosy, serene and like home from home.
