Stayed for a few days with kids during Easter Break, very affordable rooms, very clean and tidy, great friendly staff. Good food on menu at reasonable prices. Very close to Pleasure Beach and Sandcastle swimming pool

Stayed here again last week and what a transformation , the old lumpy beds have been replaced with amazing ones . Rooms are a lot fresher . Much improved, location is superb anyway . Even managed to get parked on the street so no car parking to pay .

Stopped for 1 night whilst competing in the blackpool ice skating festival.Tea and coffee in the rooms, as normal never enough milk sugar etc left, but was enough for 1 drink each! (2 of us were stopping), no free biscuits or shower gel, travelodge seem to have gone very tight in the last year or so, and you get the minimal amount free!, not as clean and spotless as the travelodge on the south shore there was spillages all down the door, walls etc that could easily have been wiped off it really let the room down! alot of dust on everything aswell and not enough toilet roll bed was extreamly comfortable tho had a lovely nights sleep, lovely and warm in the room, shower worked well although I was dissapointed at not having a bath!, drinks in the bar were expensive, staff very very freindly stopped to talk to us for ages! very dissapointed in having to pay for parking! was very expensive and I dont agree with having to pay it when your stopping at the hotel! not happy at all with that!, very close to the seafront right opposite the pleasure beach and extreamly handy for the ice rink would definately stop here again just wasnt happy at paying for parking!, didnt get much noise from outside either which is good

Stayed here for the 2nd time as its easy access to the skating rink , 100% improvement on last year , rooms were clean & smelled fresh. Best thing was the beds & pillows so much more comfortable than any Travelodge we've stayed in before . Great reception staff . Keep up the good work

We stopped in the South Shore Travelodge and to be quite frank, this has to be the worst Travelodge ever I have stayed in. One review said they were a regular Travelodge user and this is one of the best, I don't think so! There was no iron or hair dryer in the room: you had to request these at the desk and when I did I was told they would source the hairdryer and that I could pick it up later, when I asked later for a hair dryer there was not one was available! The room had the sofa removed so we had one plastic chair to sit on. No bed side cabin cabinets. In the evening when I was queuing to ask about the non-existing hair dryer a couple in front were being informed that there room had been trebled booked, yes trebled booked! that's when I found out you needed to pay for your car parking as we were not told about that when we booked in. On the Sunday morning some daft individual thought it was great at 08:30 to go along the corridor banging on the doors telling people it was time to get up. It's not all bad the room was clean, the location great. The male staff though were out of their depths but the woman receptionist in the morning was great as was the Scot's guy behind the bar at nite.

Room Tip: Bring your own hair dryer and iron and bathroom stuffs.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. We asked for a quiet room on the top floor - and it was quiet until the guests in the room next door returned, when they started banging, slamming, thudding and generally making a noise. Fortunately this did not go on too late. We were glad they were next door and not on the floor above. However, this sort of noise could be a problem in the Summer, especially during July and August, probably well into the early hours. There does not seem to be any sort of soundproofing in the bedrooms.

This hotel is situated right next door to the Pleasure Beach and the Sandcastle so I would imagine would be very noisy in Summer and may be noisy well into the night. However, during April there are very few attractions open as the season does not really start till Easter.

The hotel itself was okay, we did not use the bar café.

Our room had a lovely sea view, had a nice comfy bed but the shower did not work properly. There was a steady flow down the side of the shower and a poor flow through the shower, even turned full on. No soap was provided, nor a hairdryer. These would be nice extras for the hotel to provide.

Our room was not cleaned during our stay. We were told that Travelodge staff did not clean rooms it was done by outside contractors and they did not know why they had not cleaned our room. We asked for clean towels, more tea and coffee and to have our bin emptied and this was done fairly quickly.

The cost of the attractions in Blackpool does seem quite steep but you can get deals of joint tickets for 2 or 3 attractions which are probably better value.

We did enjoy our stay and would probably stay there again, but this is a hotel for younger people and families who would like to stay near the Pleasure Beach, South Pier and Sandcastle. Probably not recommended for older people and those wanting peace and quiet (like us).
