Spent a weekend in Blackpool with our 6 year old nephew and 5 year old niece.
As soon as we pulled up on the front drive of the hotel, the owner Steve came out and greeted us, helped us in with the luggage, and took the car round to the rear car park for us.
Even though we had booked at short notice, (booked on Monday 16th September for Saturday 21st on to Sunday 22nd) , he had fitted us in to Room no.1, (a family room with a double and 2 single beds), which was large, clean, and an ample supply of towels for all 4 of us to use.
(Our niece was delighted with the pink bathroom - and was convinced we had requested it)!)
Steve went out of his way to include the children during the whole stay, and when we returned to the hotel on Saturday evening, much to both their delight, put the kids channel on the big screen TV in the lounge area, allowing us to enjoy a enjoyable chat & drink or two in the bar with another couple, who were also staying overnight with their 2 year old daughter. Infact we had to pretend the hotel had run out of electricity to get the 3 of them up to bed at 10pm!
Breakfast on the Sunday morning was superb with a buffet of cereals, fresh fruit, & juices on offer, followed by a full English breakfast of your choice, toast and tea/coffee bought to your allocated table. (The only complaint the 6 year old had was no warm milk available which he usually has on his cereal! - but we soon got over that problem when he saw the sausages & toast being bought out by the waitress!).
After breakfast & settling the bill, Steve bought our car back round the front of the hotel for us to load up..
The hotel was ideally situated close to all the amenities, including the sea front, piers, town centre & shops, but far enough away from the noise and chaos Blackpool attracts on a Saturday night! and although we have visited many times before over the years, this was our first overnight stay in Blackpool, and would willingly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a great value stay at a pleasant and welcoming hotel.
We will certainly be returning, and after picking the kids up from school last friday they both asked if we were going to that hotel again in Blackpool this weekend - We wish!!!
