At the fernroyd we were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was freshly cooked and presented well, with good choice. Evening meal good, only had one as we don't really do evening meal, but would recommend it. Michael knew all about events etc in Blackpool and was very helpful. Very quiet in hotel at night.

Room Tip: The room we had was spacious and sunny very quiet. Very clean and comfortable on the first floor...

This place is a budget hotel but it is comfortable , clean and safe.
I must say Blackpool isnt really my ideal holiday destination (its quite grim to be honest ! ) but
Michael is a lovely guy and the breakfast is freshly cooked and I can't fault it.
The room I had was single room and it was cosy . It wasn't plush but it was adequate and functional .
The complaints I would have are the bathroom was tiny and the shower was very weak and varied between hot and cold , and the location is ok , its about 15-20 minute walk to the centre so its not that bad and the tram is a couple of minute walk.
But if you are staying in Blackpool and are looking for a cheap place then id recommend !

Our daughter found this hotel for us which she ended up feeling really bad about.... It was more like a guest house! We came to the Uk for a 16 day vacation to visit family but after 8 days here we checked out and found somewhere else to stay...
The owner Michael was too over friendly, his wife Margaret i saw twice just in passing... When we arrived we were shown to our room....The tower and sea view that was advertised was being able to see them in the far distance as long as it was a clear day! There was no bar and we were told that we were more than welcome to bring our own drinks and they would gladly provide the ice, we were given 5 pieces of ice when we asked so gave up on that 1!..The wi-fi didn't work in our room as the signal wasn't strong enough. The bathroom had body hair on the floor, not belonging to us as we'd only just arrived! When this was mentioned when we left we were told his wife only thoroughly cleans rooms when guests leave, work that one out! We had no bath mat so we had to put a towel on the floor for 2 days until we finally got 1... There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room, 1 of the teaspoons had green on it, after 3 days we finally got another 1 when my daughter asked for it to be replaced... The full breakfast was very disappointing... The final straw was having to sleep in our car after a night out as the hotel door was deadlocked!... The positive note was that we got our money back for the days remaining but it impacted the rest of our stay in the UK.

I have been coming to this litle gem of a hotel for for a number of years now and have always had an excelent experience. Michael and Margaret are so friendly and welcoming. The food is good as is the location and it feels like home from home. Fellow guests return year after year too which is a testament to how well Michael and Margaret run the place.I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Long may they continue!

We went to this hotel recently after it was recommended to us last year. The location is great being along the North Shore just a couple of minutes walk from the sea front and trams. The en-suite bedrooms are larger than average for Blackpool and tastefully furnished, with the usual toiletries and tea and coffee making. A mini-fridge was a nice touch. The hosts Michael and Margaret made us feel really welcome and Michael gave guests lots of tips for sightseeing and night life. The food was fantastic - all home cooked using fresh local produce and plenty of it. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Wi-fi would be a bonus at some point and from a personal point I would prefer mugs in the room rather than cups - that being the only suggestions you can see what a fantastic hotel it is and we will be definitely going back on our next stay to Blackpool!
