This was the second time I have stayed here, first for my own stag do and then for my best friends. Steve and sue are fantastic, they can't do enough for you. Great place what ever the occasion. The breakfast is spot on, bar is always well stocked. It's just a nice place to stay and just a stones throw from the promenade. I will remember to book direct next time though, haha

Travel a lot with work during the week with the big brand hotels, so wasn't really expecting too much for the price, which was extremely competitive. The hotel exceeded all expectations. Lovely friendly staff, a nice breakfast and a good atmosphere.

If you're unlucky enough not to find parking outside there are cheap carparks at the end of the road. Booking in was seemless, rooms tidy and with decent facilities for the price.

Went as part of a mixed group, of various ages, and all thoroughly enjoyed

Stayed for a night. Staff are friendly. Room is what you'd expect for price. Only negative is lack of sleep due to rowdy lads staying the weekend. But can't moan, decent location, considering the price

Just spent 2 nights with my husband and son at the Ardwick House Hotel. The hotel had some good points, the Staff were friendly, the breakfast was nice, the rooms bar/breakfast room and communal areas were clean and smoking was allowed in rooms. However although it was cheap, so you get what you pay for we did nt expect the toilets and shower rooms to be so bad you were reluctant to use them. The rooms were small, ours could nt be classed as a double, had a 4 feet bed, the mattress sloped so had difficulty staying on it, the window was tiny, no shelf over the sink so no room to put anything had to use the window ledge for toiletries. No hooks anywhere and only surface for putting anything was where the kettle and cups were so everything had to be on the floor. The single room was better and had more space and larger window. We were on the top floor it had a small old fashioned toilet, couldn't move in it the door was straight in front of your nose. the shower room on the floor below had old lino covered in water and an old shower curtain, the shower head just trickled luke warm water out, it was so small you could nt turn in it and it felt unclean. I ventured in once my husband would nt use it at all. We usually go ensuite and we didn't realise that this was nt an ensuite hotel or we would nt have booked it. We did nt spend much time in the hotel so did nt use the bar but you expect to be able to use the facilities. It would nt take much to refurbish the shower room and toilets, the toilets did nt even have sinks in. They should convert the double rooms that are really singles into bathrooms or en suites would nt go again.

Went to Ardwick House just for a few days and ended up staying nearly a fortnight!

Sue & Steve were fantastic - helpful and flexible with things like extending stay, check out time etc. Really couldn't fault the service.

Don't expect the Hilton, 'cos it aint, but at these prices you don't expect that - it's brilliant value for money ... My single room was small (but not stupidly small), clean, tidy, warm (full control of heating in your room), a good range of Freeview channels in the room, wifi that worked most of the time, plus tea/coffee which is handy.

Shared bathrooms might have been a problem, but weren't - they were handy enough, again spotlessly clean and there were enough of them that meant you never had to wait.

Only had breakfast one day of my stay as it was a bit early for me (and extra half hour would be good, but I understand that's not really practical as rooms need clearing and changing etc each morning), which is a shame as it was nice and good value for money, however there are plenty of other cafe's etc around that offer similarly good value starts to the day if need be.

Location-wise, pretty good. About 20 mins walk from Blackpool North Station, 2 or 3 minutes to the front (more or less at Central Pier) and from there you can decide to either head for North or South Blackpool just as easily.

Really enjoyed my stay - wanted to stay longer but was running out of cash (wish i had as I got mugged within 15 mins of arriving back in Liverpool and got my laptop nicked!! Bit battered, bruised and sore, but OK and got laptop back! lol)

Highly recommend it - next time I go to Blackpool, I won't even bother looking anywhere else if they have a room.

Thanks Sue & Steve )

Ali
