Brilliant hotel, just like home from home! We decided this weekend, (last minute) to spend the weekend at Blackpool (St Patricks Day/Mothers Day) and so without hesitation we returned to the Cranstone. This was our 2nd visit, our first visit was Sept last year for the illuminations, and we're already looking at making it a 3rd very soon. "Shirlie" and "Sam" are simply wonderful hosts, & nothing is too much trouble. We arrived around 4pm just in time to watch the England-v-Ireland Rugby match. Sam made us a toasted sandwich which was the best id tasted, then after a couple of drinks and a wash and change we headed out for the evening. Shirley & Sam even joined us for a drink at the nearby Excelsior Public house, couple of doors away, and a good evening was had by all. It was St Patricks Day and Joe the pub manager soon had everyone singing along with the Kareoke/turn. Joe gave me a St Patricks Day/Guiness T-Shirt to join in the celebrations, and they even provided a free supper for everyone So well worth a visit here too. Great atmosphere.
We enjoyed our evening rather well and Shirlie, bless her, let us have a good old lie in and breakfast was served at 10 am instead.Following a good nights sleep and a refreshing shower we headed down for breakfast. A good choice of cereals followed by a fabulous pipng hot, full cooked "English", (with a perfect dippy egg Shirlie) lol.. which set us up for the day.
Deciding to walk off some of the big breakfast we left the car outside the hotel whilst we took a wander down the road to the Pleasure Beach,The "Cranstone" is ideally situated for all amenities, halfway between the Pleasure Beach and the Tower. The weather was nice, a little bit cool but lovely and sunny and we had a wonderful day to round off what was simply a wonderful weekend. Lotsof places to visit and plenty of entertainment so if you fancy a trip to Blackpool head for the "Cranstone" you wont be disapointed!

Sam and Shirley are great hosts amazingly easy to get along with i felt as if i had known them for years by the time we had left, they made the whole family and group of friends feel like we had a home away from home which is great for the kids, who would wake up in the morning and go find them "morning shirley" mikey would say. The hosts were excellent with the kids one night sam even made them all paper air planes, the hotel is well looked after and the breakfast's are brilliant, the hotel provides a very cheap bar for drinks (really cheap). The hotel is located a stone throw away from the sea front and a short distance away from the pleasure beach. Each room in the hotel has real character, there is a spacious social room with sky tv and big breakfast lounge. Shirley and Sam advised us on what we could do and showed a interest in are holiday. The cost of the rooms are cheap per night especially for what service you will get, if i was asked if i would go again i would in a instance. To sum the experience up i would say amazing welldone Sam and Shirley keep it up and you will make many visitors happy for many years to come.
